I’ve played both sides to a high level in the Moscow campaign. My winning% for the Russian side is about 10% higher than for the German side. This is mostly because of the T50, which is crazy strong. My guess would be the next development would be that the Germans get a strong tank that can counter it, but somehow this didn’t happen and the Russians got a tank that’s even stronger, the T34! This is a bit crazy to my opinion and it takes out a lot of the fun.
If you don’t believe me, please check some player stats and see if they do as good on the German side as they do on the Russian side. I really think some balancing is needed.

On moscow i have to say is not all developers fault german 1939-1943 equipment is a shit compared to the other nation one, if you look other campaigns german weapon are always early level one, italian/hungary/romania/Czek equipment is always end game equipment for axis, and this is true even for their tank wo start becoming better after they encounter russian beast, and you can see this change in stalingrad

What strong tank?
The F2 sucks. Is good enough to kill a KV but not on par (which is fine for me).
Best is a StuG with HEAT and I bet my sweat ass that the StuG will end as premium.

I love the stugIII A in WT you can kill a jumbo/KV1 in a frontal 1v1 withaut problem
Still I think the T-50 is redundant both due to history and balance. I semi-rework the levels in my free time and I simply removed the T-50 and consider giving the Russians the BT-7M (albeit I am also not sure about its usage there).
Well withaut t50 probably we see t34(1941) a lot before stalingrad
40 levels for every campaign was a mistake in the first place.
Level 10 tank can at least try to deal with level 20 tank, but it’s useless against level 35 tank.
And there’s usually not enough equally strong counterpart unlocks for the arms race till level 40 so we end up with paper/fantasy/OP stuff.
Similarly, Moscow should have ended just before T-50 (~ level 25) with T-28E vs Pz IV E/F1.
No OP T-50, no time travelling bullshit like Sniper STG.

Yet they did quite massive damage with theyr rather poor equipment compared to stalinium coated super weapons.
One could ask was the russian stalinium coating so superior after all or were the germans just superhumans in comparison ?
Either way, which ever is historically correct can be rather easily implemented to game.
About it being realistic the way it is: I don’t play the game to experience how hard it was for the Germans, I just want to have fun 
In reality they probably also didn’t have enough toiletpaper but that’s exactly the kind of experience I’m not looking for
