Seriously. I’ve been seeing it posted everywhere in the forum that its a two hit kill gun. Even though the stat card clearly reads 12 dmg at 10 meters. I’m really getting annoyed by players trying to argue that their FG42s are actually two hit kill guns and thus equal to the M2 Carbine.
They’re adding the extra bullet it takes to finish off a downed soldier.
Rather stupid thing to do in my opinion. A gun with 12 dmg to chest at 10 m will still one hit 40% of the time on a full health soldier judging he doesn’t have certain perks. And even still, a downed soldier isn’t going to kill you and is typically just a free kill unless he went down behind cover 50+ meters away.
err…
for personal experience, i don’t relay on stats.
but on the field, fg 2 shots the majority of soldiers.
FG II as well.
as i tend to flank, i usually try to engage fresh and replanished units. as such, people that spawned and leaved the spawn. so those units did not took damage.
( no, i don’t spawn kill if that is what you are thinkin )
as such, it usually takes two shot to kill them.
and i don’t pretend to be good, because the majority of my shots are torso. and i usually engage them between 50 < 150 meters.
Note, i have 1 Fg at 3 stars, 2 at 4 stars, and 1 at 5 stars.
I have 3 6-star fg 42 ll’s and they are absolutely OP, maybe it’s the best weapon in the game right now. it’s like sniper gewehr with a 20 bullet magazine, with much better recoil, higher fire rate and selective fire mode. I don’t know how it’s possible to balance this thing as it was ahead of it’s time during WW2. This situation reminds me of Maus in war thunder. They just removed it from the tree is it was very hard to balance.
Rumor, you are low IQ and can’t shoot
The FG 42 II is very strong, yes. Scope and less recoil. The FG 42 is way more balanced and only in close quarter very powerful (because this high recoil). On the distance… meh. Depends on the aim and on the enemy. Because first shot means downed. If you fucked up your shot then there is a high chance that the enemy will hit you and then you are dead (happened to me sometimes xD)
Stock FG42 is a 2 shot kill at around 50-100m (theres not a precise breakdown of damage over range on the stat card). At 100m it does 9.8 damage making it 0.2 damage less than a 1 shot kill, of course though a fully upgraded FG42 wouldn’t have this issue but you would need around 200-300 parts to make just one so I doubt anyone has a full squad of those … yet. But yeah the gun is a pretty solid weapon at basically any range I just wish the sights were a bit more user friendly.
at 10m, the FG-42 indeed has a 40% chance of oneshotting a soldier. However, most combat happens at about 50m, where it deals 10-11 damage, leading to a 0-20% oneshot chance. As such, it twoshots most of the time.
For people who don’t know, if you do over 10 damage, but less than 15 damage, you have a chance of downing, and a chance of oneshotting a player. If you do 2 damage over the 10 damage mark, you have a 2/5 chance of oneshotting. If you do 4 damage over the 10 damage mark, you have 4/5 chance, etc.
You make interesting conclusions
FG42 has the same stats as the Garand, it’s a full auto, 20 round mag Garand that plays like an M4. Giving it to troopers is absurdly op.
