Pretty much all British tanks had a Close Support version specifically for infantry cooperation, it was a key part of armoured doctrine.
So the A13 had a close support version with a 3.7inch breech loading mortar which fired white phosphorous and HE.
Daimler armoured car had a CS mark which mounted a 3 inch QF howitzer. Crusader also had the same gun along with the Valentine and Matilda. Note that the smoke rounds should be white phos, which is nasty stuff, not merely smoke. Cromwell and Churchill sported the 95mm QF on CS variants.
As the game revolves around close support of infantry can we ever expect the correct variants to be included for the role?
I’d also like to see the Humber with it’s 15mm Besa at low BR, always wondered how that weapon would fare. Also the Russian Valentine where they used their own HE rounds in the bomb thrower / mortar. And of course the absoluteness of OP, the Crocodile and AVRE.
Course there’s also the Wasp and 3" mortar carrier. Come to think of it do the Universal Carriers currently in game have their 2" mortars?
Can understand that there could be balancing issues but seems very strange that none of the CS variants are included given the role.
