What's your favourite starter rifle?

Out of all enlisted’s 4 starter rifles which one is you favourite and why (excluding old (D) variants from the campaign system).

4th place-

The worst in my opinion is the soviets mosin. It’s slow, it doesn’t make up for it by having higher damage, it’s sight are mid and it has no bayonet.

3rd place-

The Springfield isn’t bad but I always replace it with Enfields or Ross rifles. I don’t like it’s sights but it has a decent fire rate a bayonet and good damage.

2nd place-

The Arisaka has mid sights as well but it has a better 54 fire rate, although it has slightly lower damage. It also has a bayonet, but the main reason it’s 2nd is because it doesn’t have to be replaced, it can be used all the way through br2 without needing to be replaced.

1st place-

The 33/40 is a pretty good rifle, it’s basically a kar98k. It has pretty good sights a bayonet and a good fire rate. It takes the best elements of all the starter rifles.

What’s you favourite starter rifle?

I think Id swap the arisaka the 1903 but thats it.

In terms of looks i prefer mosin. Gewehr 33 is better in practice

Best irons in the game. Love me some open irons

For me it has to be the Arisaka (extremely biased lol)

Yes, pretty much my favourite of current starters.

Imo the Springfield is the best because others are ‘Carbine’ hence their lower damage. 20 seems really good, but I often end-up not downing people instead of killing them outright because I hit them in the leg/arms.

This does not happen with rifles having 22+ damage like the Springfield.

However the sight and sound of the springfield are some of the worst in the game.

The gewehr 33/40 is just the best amongst these because of how comfortable it is to use. Its very similar to the Kar98k with slightly less damage.

Enlisted needs a better springfield.

more ww2
less ww1 era

They all got nerfed into the groud and I hate them :frowning:
My biggest tip for new players is to immediately start switching away from the starter crap. Nowadays way better BR1 rifles are so cheap to buy and upgrade and it’s a massive boost to the power level you can put down ingame
Type 1
USMC Springfield
7.35mm Carcano
Russians are the only ones where I’d recommend waiting for the Winchester and where it might be worth looking over the lack of a bayonet on it

Why the frick does everyone and their mother hate the Springfield’s irons?

The Winchester is undeniably the best manual action gun in the game. More lever actions are needed

I can’t speak for every one but in my opinion the front sight on the Springfield is to small and thin.
It could also do with being raised a little as the rear sight is quite short.

What a good pair of ironsights should look like:

the USMC one is nice
The other one is half a pixel wide needle you can’t see half the time (if I remember correctly)

Wait germany’s starter rifle isn’t the kar-98? Never realized that.
Okay back on topic, imo the type 38 is the best. Being good enough until you get semis is a big plus.

It’s funny because with a lot of irons in the game with tall front posts (say the British ones) I often shoot too high cause I’m aiming towards the center of the post. Whereas with the Springfield it’s borderline impossible to do that
Thick ring sights and hooded front posts also obscure my vision and cause me to outline my enemies instead of nailing them directly as I see their body is behind the ring, but isn’t necessarily behind the post. So I hit just outside of their hit box
The Springfield has neither of these issues (and was the first gun I used in the game)

I don’t know. Maybe I’m just a fan of notch and valley sights

we need this springfield

with a rework ofc

Ahhh, that’s classified information. Not only do you NOT have the clearance… You don’t have the need to know. Any similar questions in the future will automatically be referred to the security team who is required—by law—to perform a full body cavity search to ensure the safety of others.

Any questions?

Ahh, yeah, sure. But it’s still BRI,

I think that’s where I was going with that.
