What's up with the reload?(when low on ammo not reloading full mag or all rounds)

So I got a smg that just emptied out a full mag and I am left with lets say 20 rounds(less then the mag size)… why in gods name would I only load like 6-10 rounds!? Idk about you but this very much annoys me since I died a couple of time already because I waisted time on reloading mags instead of firing.

I cant be the only one annoyed with this, and this must be a bug, right?

Guns that have magazines use a mag system. Lets say your smg has 4 mags. That means that you can fully reload with a fresh mag 4 times. If you have no new fresh mags you will put which ever mag has the most bullets in.

They have a mag system but they dont really tell you much else about it.

A UI indicator would be fine enough

Jesus this seems like a waist of resources to make, I hate it honestly. Plus why is the mag system working like that on rifles that can be fed rounds one by one too?

I like it, makes it so you can’t just top up every time you fire a shot. Also pretty sure rifles don’t have that issue. If so then that’s a bug

as far as i’m aware only bolt actions don’t have that issue because you either use strippers or load them one at a time

Yes but rifles like the m1 grand(that I use a lot) can be fed one by one round. It seems really weird that you cant reload it fully.

i don’t really pay attention to that since i mostly do an empty reload though it makes sense for mags not to a full reload since back in the day magazine were really expensive for a gun

Yep, its pretty realistic. But can be annoying, yes. My suggestion is to add a function of “managing” of the magazines, like in ARMA 3. While having free time in battle, you could refull the mags with bullets from other mags, so lets say you have 2 mags, both with 5 bullets. If you restrip them, you would get one 10 round mag. It would make sense imo.

Not a bad idea, or just something like “combine magazine” button and you have to wait 5-7 without ammo would be a good solution too.

Take a look at how it looks like in ARMA 3 (its Czech war simulator, even used by US army as training trenager for their soldiers, thats how realistic that game is.)

Your soldier carries actual 4 mags with 30-something bullets each, not a magical shared supply of ammo.
