Whats up with M1928A1 thompson reload?

So as far as I know, after emptying the magazine you dont have to pull back the charging handle when reloading the gun.
That is the case with the M1928A1 (30 rounds)
But for some reason, the M1928A1 (50 rounds drum) animation includes pulling back the charging handle.


(ignore the duplicated sound, sorry.)

For using a drum u actually still need to pull back the charging handle. unlike the 30 round and 20 round box magazine
