What's the situation with this new airplane?

As usual, I was checking out interesting stuff in the editor after an update when I noticed a very strange aircraft—the BF109Z. It looks like two 109s joined together

Oh my god, after checking the War Thunder wiki, this plane looks even uglier

This Spitfire IX skin also seems a bit different from before, but what I really hope is that they give it a 500 lb AN-M64A1 bomb on release. The original already has a bomb rack, and the U.S. could really use this kind of plane to counter the Ki-100—though it might still struggle to win.

It would make for an interesting event plane…

I’m sorry, but he only has one cockpit.

I thought it was just a bad texture. My bad.

Gaijin will still probably find a way to stuff it up anyway.

I think this is Göring’s drunken midnight idea—so stupid and ugly.

The U.S. indeed had a two-pilot aircraft that could also be fitted with eight .50 caliber machine guns, totaling fourteen ‘Ma Deuces’.

can’t wait for this event it was weird to get a random update with nothing changing the plane looks fun to use hopefully its good at CAS and turning

Not particularly useful for either - it is best at high speed and altitude.

It has 4 x Mk 108 30mm cannon - that’s the short range low muzzle velocity one - will kill anything unarmoured (incl half tracks and open topped vehicles) you hit, but that’s an important “if”

Carries 1 x 250kg bomb for CAS.

guess ill stick to the potez plane for CAS or if its br5 the ju188

Why not switch out the British plane with the U.S two pilot aircraft instead to match the two pilots aircraft theme?

None of them have bombs. This is going to be another disappointing event.

Any plane without bombs is practically useless in the game. I don’t ask for a huge one, but at least two small ones to offer some minimal support while I wait for some enemy aircraft.

In any case, if they were event planes, it would be a rather interesting event, but as mentioned, no bombs, no use.

edit. It looks like the 109Z has a bomb but not the spitfire

Because the F-82 is mostly a post war plane. While it flew for the first time in June 1945 (after germany was defeated but before Japan’s surrender) it entered service in 1946.

Make sense. Didn’t stop Gajin from adding the Su-9 for Russia TT though.

Because the Su-9 is the perfect example of the Enlisted developers’ tradition of shooting first and asking later.

They wanted to add jets without thinking first about the fact that outside of UK, USA, and GER, no one else used them in WW2… Now imagine any other nation like France, Italy (even if they have something similar), Hungary, etc., who find themselves looking for solutions to fill this new request (at least until the developers accept that they can’t force the factions to BR5 like they did with Japan).

My take on it is they couldn’t get any jets without “balance” - which the vast majority of hte player base demand.

If Enlisted had an asymetric cost model it would not need to have happened -“balance” is the curse of pretty much all modern MPGs :frowning:

Asymmetrical balance is still balance. It just means trading one really good thing for one meh or bad thing.
