Genuine curiosity.
What is the purpose of random spread?
What does the random spread add in this game?
Cuz in my opinion it adds more of frustration rather than fun or fairness
Im not here to play WoT with RNG

I’m guessing you mean dispersion?

Well, it’s a mechanic to make you upgrade weapons and perks. It’s all part of the grind.

Dispersion, random spread, rng, whatever you call
But even with grind you never get rid of it

It’s part of the balancing process.
We don’t want SMGs to be lazer acurate at 1000m, do we.

Also dispersion doesn’t take into account only gun accuracy but also its kind of a simplification of other factors. For example LMGs get penalty to dispersion for moving.

To add in the inherent inaccuracy of firearms, although in game it’s significantly more exaggerated with several several MOA for many guns that were closer to 1 or 2 MOA. But prevents me from using .45 ACP like .50 BMG

Ironically SMGs feel like they have way less dispersion than semi autos at this point lol

Unupgraded M1 Garand feels like 50/50 chance on hitting a chest shot at 100 m lol

Honestly, even full upgraded garand feels quite inacurate sometimes, and it’s pretty annoying.
