Whats the matter with plane render distance?

after testing out planes here and there, I gotta say the biggest issue with plane combat is without a doubt render distance - unless you use rockets which you can simply shoot at the general direction of infantry advance and you still get huge amounts of kills, enemy infantry renders at ranges where you need to pull your plane up again, making strafing runs not ideal.

Strafing runs are actually the most fun and skill depending way to play with planes, because unlike bombs (which seem very weak against infantry anyways, and are only good against tanks) and rockets, strafing runs with your canons and main guns require to look for infantry and use proper aim while being low to the ground risking return fire.

I think this should be the main gameplay aspect for pilots and would be very healthy for the game cycle.

What makes me wonder about all this is how tanks are rendered at above 2000 meters, friendly infantry at 1000 meters, only enemy infantry starts popping up at only 500 meters distance, which clearly proves this isn’t a question about game limitations.

Is that a balance decision? And if so, why is that the case?

I brought that up years ago and got flamed for “skill issue” lmao

As if being able to hit individual people with aircraft guns…was low skill?

They improved the render distance a bit but it’s still pretty rough. Other annoying things are LOD ok buildings - windows do not render so I have to remember where they are to snipe window campers lol

And yeah, better render distance for enemy infantry would help a lot, often they render so late you have like 1s to shoot and avoid crashing

Have been talking about it for years.

Its not just ground targets, its planes too. You can literaly hear a plane, be looking right at it, and its not rendered, but if you zoom in it appears…zoom out again it disappears. Your field of fiew also affects this

Happens with infantry and gun emplacements.

Ive flown straight at AA guns i know were there, only to have them appear at the last second.

Warthunder used to have bad rendering issues, because if no one has vision on something, it gets de-rendered. The same thing appears to happen here.

Makes sense thats enlisted inherits old crap from warthunder
