Whats the funny about SpeedRun in this game?

I really would like to understand why someone plays this game like Call of Duty.

In an (almost) full “Lone Fighters” server, the top player got 21 kills!?

This was the third match that these 2 or 3 folks just run to the objective like SpeedRunners, just to finish the game. But why?

I really don’t understand.

There is an objective. The goal of the game is to win. “Speed running” the game is also known as “Trying to actually win the game by its own rules”. Why does the game have an objective? Because it encourages players to actually contest each other, and drives the action. If it was all about getting the best KDA, everyone would just sit and snipe all day, hiding from each other indefinitely, with none of the exciting rushes or close quarter fights that make playing exciting.

Its called 50% boost if you win + extra for your heroic acts :wink:

A clearly dominant team is wasting a chance for experience by speed running the objective like that. This game very much is about kills as evidenced by the rewards system that is entirely based on kills. Winning so fast hurts your exp/time ratio even with the bonus.

If you can win in 12 minutes, you can slow down and pump your score and experience for a much more rewarding game and more effective use of your time, and still win for the bonus.

But then you risk to loose though, the teams has an tendency to do comebacks. Its better to quick grab that bonus and go for another game since its basically the same.
How ever one could assess it being farming anyways if its mostly bots and new players youre up against which is an cowards game not fit for Prussian soldiers

If my team is so clearly dominant that I can afford to just hang back and farm without seriously endangering my odds of winning, then I want the game to end as fast as possible because I get bored hella quick, and then there is always the chance that it backfires and I lose anyway.

And frankly, I tend to get a lot more xp out of closer games than stomps, because much of the time a onesided game means that the enemies aren’t actually getting into the fight quickly enough, and thus kills per minute are way lower than a match where people are desperately feeding themselves into the grinder on both sides to stay afloat.

Wouldnt speedrun mean that you finish teh grind in no time?

Imagine as a new player, who just trying the custom Lone Fighters match, and enter in the middle of the game:

  1. You respawn;
  2. Try to go to the objective;
  3. The objective change;
  4. Try to go to the next objective.
  5. The objective change;
  6. Try again;
  7. The game ends.

I just print that 12 minutes match, but the game before was even faster, the top player just kill 7!!!

So, a thing about lone fighter: The game is not really designed or balanced for it. That’s part of why it was relegated to custom matches. Several aspects of this game, such as the super low time to kill, the “Full cap speed if you outnumber the enemy by one” concept, and tanks coming with full crews when spawned, do not work well with lone fighter.

So, in the squads mode, when a single player sneaks into the point, they usually can’t cap without getting several kills, even if only one player is defending, because the defending player is generally going to have more bots around than someone who pushed into the point. That gives time for other defenders to come and help out, and prevent capture.

In lone fighter, a single player sneaks in, kills the one guy in the point, and then they just sort of get to cap it, especially since the reduced hud in lone fighters makes it harder to know when the point needs to be reinforced.

are you seriously complaining that people are playing the objective in the game where you need to play the objective to win?

The objective is to cap/ destroy the zones, fact.

But I get your point, specially with a Booster activated.
