Just came back from a very long break. I thought the devs we’re going to give us the ability to choose our own maps. Whatever happened to that? Did they change their mind?

They never had the intention of actually doing that.
This is only the illusion of choice, I doubt the likes and dislike system even does anything, I’m getting maps I’ve like and maps I’ve disliked at the same frequency, it’s just a lie.

I haven’t bothered to like or dislike maps, and it’s actually worked better.

Maybe it uses reverse psychology… i’ll try liking the maps i don’t like, because clearly disliking them doesn’t help anyway

regardless of how effective it is i only believe map preference was ever promised, even premerg you could only choose the campaign, map preference was promised and delivered to debatable satisfaction.
Um no… No its wasn’t! Until there is a list of maps with a checkbox next to them that you can check and uncheck, then it wasn’t delivered—at all.
Yeah, I’ll never understand corporate decision makers who have customers telling them exactly what they want, and then they give them something completely different. It makes no sense.

i know its been asked for but i have never seen it promised
I’m all for trash talk and calling out geijin for breaking promises
But don’t conflate requests and promises
I am constantly scratching my head at decisions this company makes, but hey, it’s their company. However, after 15 years running a car dealership I can guarantee the owner would have fired me if I ran it this way. 
cuisine royal is still going and thats a subpar battle royale getting even less content, so a few years after that dies enlisted is next
Promised or not, they knew exactly what their customers were asking for—and all they delivered was subpar nonsense.
might not be “dead”, but it is definitely no longer breathing
you already have map choice… in customs. giving all players ability to select maps they want to play would just lead to bot filled matches(just like in customs). preferred map choice is perfectly ok for MM, just that their current system sucks. there are not enough votes and i suspect that likes negate dislikes.

First of all, I haven’t played this game in many months. Second, I don’t remember exactly what the developers said about this issue; however, I was obviously given the impression that they were going to give us the ability to choose maps—and it appears that other people were given this impression as well (regardless of their EXACT words). They knew what people were asking for, and chose not to provide it—for whatever reason.
Ok many players wanted map selection they promised map preference, which might not even work. Geijin again fails to deliver what people want water is wet and weeaboos will claim Germany is the weakest faction in enlisted. Now if it had been does map preference even work I would be like yeeeees, maybe not. I am sorry but players want to much

BR -+0 Matchmaking
UK Italy full factions
This is a online multiplayer game
We would need
Games capped at 15 minute
Or 10 times the playerbase
Or abandon ww2 and have it be faction a against faction b c d e f
Or abandon ww2 and have each team made up of every and any country
Or have games made up of no more than 4 real players no less than two and 16 to 18 bots
Or with all above improvements have wait time longer than the bloody matches
We already have more distinct qs than world of tanks with a quarter the player base
Which has br±2
And have game three to nine times longer
it was always preferred map choice.
here is number of players that are in match for all servers, all factions and all BR.
considering that enlisted has 3 servers, 4 factions and 5 BR and game lasts 20 minutes on average, do you think game has enough players so everyone can cherry pick their maps?
if you want to play game with bots on specific map, you can always go to customs.

i cant think of a game that has as low a player count as enlisted that has map selection
