What´s the point of using DPM over DP-27

What´s the point of using DPM over DP-27. DP-27 has slight better stats. Or do i miss something?
DPM is “higher” in reseach tree. The description says it is modernization version of DP-27 so my common sense tell me that it should be little better stat vise than DP-27.

I only use the DP-27, I like it better then the DPM.

But is there actual benefit to use it? Stats vise i mean. I use DP-27 too, cuz it looks better.

It’s just a mp38 vs mp40 situation.

If you have to choose one choose DPM as horizontal is more important than vertical. If you already have a bunch of DP-27, just skip the DPM, the difference is too small to justify a switch.

I only use it because of the nicer animations lol. I can’t stand the 27’s ones

Historical relevance and variety, for instance.

DPM began replacing the DP-27 in Soviet service starting in 1944.

So for BR3 (Moscow, Stalingrad, Rzhev) I take DP-27.

For BR4 and BR5 (Berlin) I take DPM.

Do you ever take Dt-29 as well?

No I don’t think it was actually ever issued to infantry.

But it’s a real gun, indeed, and theoretically could see circumstantial use by tank crews, though unsupported by doctrine.

Well, it did see limited infantry use

USSR had an insane LMG shortage so they pressed anything into service.

The reason the AVT is even a thing is because of this shortage, easier to slightly modify a already existing gun in production to fill the need than tool up a new factory… at least in theory.

Mind you, the AVT was awful in the role of a LMG, but that’s besides the point.

Dt29 was used in heroes and generals.

Heroes and generals is no more, it’s history.

Therefore dt29 is historical!

I can’t argue against that logic XD
