You can mark tanks on the ground by tapping the V key from the sky. The pilot can look at the ground from the sky and guess what is going on there.
Most maps have limited space for tanks to pass through, so remembering the terrain will help you anticipate your opponent’s position.
… So, you probably already know this without me having to explain it to you.
But 90% of the pilots you will encounter in a real match will spam spot requests, and then just fly around doing nothing until or after the ground troops actually spot them.
That is one of the wonders of this game.
Wouldn’t the game need a few more practical tutorials?
I am not that good a pilot so I can’t make tutorials, but I wish experienced pilots like Myrm1don, for example, could make tutorials for new pilots.
(Myrm1don’s expression when he heard my suggestion)
The Battle of Moscow was filled with a large number of inferior pilots who stayed in the sky doing nothing or being unable to do anything for the entire game.
Many novice pilot players should learn first before driving, such as using the marking function instead of frantically harassing teammates, or judging the general location based on the firelight of ground machine guns and tanks.
i know how to do that, and i still wish the ground pounder can mark the tank. that said, it’s not really fun trying to spam ‘v’ and hope i mark the tank before i crash or have to pull up, spin around the entire map again, and get shot by a better enemy pilot.
Yes, I would like the ground troops to find the tanks whenever possible. A combination of my own searches and reports from the ground troops will give me a complete picture of the situation on the ground.
Usually you only do it if you know there is a tank down there. I watch the kill feed to let me know when there is one about. Other times you just see them while making a run or their tracer fire.
Dont often have to use the sporting methods. They usually arent hard to find.
