What needs to happen to Meteor?

I am totally against nerfs but not against balance, the Meteor is an amazing plane so I heard, I use the Sabre, but I have flown vs Meteor and it’s turn rate and speed is hands down best in game…

Some Warthunder or fly boys, have indicated it’s turn time is too good, but was this realistic? Is the 262 a BnZ and Meteor as good as it currently is in game?

What could be tweaked to make it fairer, I am more into realism than gameplay though, so if changes are minor and more towards realism what would you suggest?

Kinda silly that Allies get 2 planes with 2 500kg bombs but everyone else is stuck with a single 500kg bomb.
So eighter give all jets one 500 kg bomb or reduce the 2 1000lb bombs to 2 500lb bombs instead.

Having 2 smaller bomb is not stricly a downgrade even over a single larger one when the smaller ones are still 500lb capable of killing everything you can see.

IMO a minor speed buff for a minor turn time nerf would be a fair deal, all in game jets have fake fantasy stats anyway.
plus the Meteor must have only one bomb like all other jets since German 262 is carrying only one bomb too, despite having the means for another.

P80 should keep its two bombs. It doesn’t have any cannons, only 50 cals. (Unlike any other jet)

So I think it’s pretty reasonable tradeoff.

It would be fair if they gave it a 1000lb bomb under the cockpit, and they should fix that stupid moving indicator.

  1. meteor needs at least +5 sec turn rate, still 5 secs better than it had in real life post nerf

  2. both me262 need buffs. the TT one can get late war 30mm cannons, which means ingame that the projectiles become much faster than currently, alternatively it would be HA if it gets a second 500kg bomb (as I have proven in a post last week), though the faster flying 30mm cannons would be better game design, as it makes every nation unique instead of just giving everyone 2 heavy bombs

  3. the kikka needs severe buffs, its by far the weakest of them all. but it can get the most flexible buffs, because:

  • only 1 experimental prototype was ever build that flew only a few test flights
  • a second, different prototype was built but wasnt capable of flying
  • 8 more frames were in the process of being build, far from complete planes
  • different features were tested: foldable wings, a rocket installation for faster carrier takeoff, different rocket configurations as weapons etc.

—> the kikka in its current enlisted form is an arbitratrily thrown together version of multiple different prototype versions the japanese were building. this means enlisted has great freedom to adjust the plane to whatever is needed for balance. since it has the weakest cannons, weakest bombload AND weakest frame of them all (also turn rate is much more helpful in dogfights than climbrate, especially against other jets), it needs severe buffs for its offensive power by giving it very high muzzle velocity autocannons (similar to germans, could even be faster, as everything is unfinished prototype stage anyway), severely increasing the ammo size (doesnt matter if there wouldnt be enough space irl) and making it a bit more tanky. this way it would be still the offensively weakest jet, but the one best suited for dogfighting and deleting waves of american planes.

  1. the soviet plane is balanced and can stay the way it is. balanced refers only to after the mentioned buffs are implemented.

edit: 5) the pulzerstörer needs buffs more than any other jet. more ammunition and a faster flying projectile would be perfect. alternatively more ammunition and a 500kg bomb). the kikka & pulkzerstörer have to made attackers 100%, the JaBo preferably too.

I hope they can give the other 500kg bomb to the Me 262 A-2 Jabo

All the jets in game have cracked turn times compared to irl, but the Meteor is just silly now, like they were all reduced by about 8 seconds turn time, the meteor was reduced only by 7 seconds and its still silly.

Like irl the Meteor did turn really well, being described as the spitfire of jets, but the game decided to artificially buff all the jets resulting in this nonsense. All the jets should be given their original turn times and that would greatly fix this mess. (Would also help the effect of the non stop bomb trains).

the gun only had a 30 round feed so 32 is more than it had, it’s also a bomber destroyer so you shouldn’t use it for A2A, however we could give it all solid AP rounds or HVAP belts and move it to the attacker role so it can be a dedicated tank killer

If you need a duck than just play the duck. The HVAP wont kill tanks better than the APHE if you cant line it up properly.
Having the ME262 as a pure AT plane makes it borderline useless as it cant do shit once tanks are gone or killed by somebody else.
HE might allow it to strafe infantry and apparently it even was quite nice at it in the test server.

i am just spitballing ideas since this is a jet that shouldn’t have been a premium choice, with better options being 262 HG1, 262 C1-1, or the HE163

Na, Jets should have definitely worse turn speed than regular planes in general, jets should be optional side grades not the total meta. Good fire power and speed should be what defines them - not turn speed.

yes, and we need better aa gun for br4-5

The devs will probably just add the quad AA for Germany and call it good. Though that would hardly be a proper fix to the current problem.

Not really sure what is the best way to balance as some machines are just inherently better than others. But I do know that the meteors turn time is absolutely busted and probably needs more than a few seconds tacked on. And if that needs to be done to all jets, so be it.

With a slower turn time, German prop planes will get a small opportunity against the meteor. That opportunity isn’t much and it may be rare against a good meteor pilot, but it would be better than the current chances to be had.

in WT only the squadron vehicle version has Mk-103’s which is what I guess what you mean by “late war 30mm cannons” - and it has no bombs.

all other 30mm on 262’s are Mk-108’s

The 262 Jabo’s in WT have either 1 x 500kg or 2 x 250 kg bombs.

Thats what they changed it to when the patch went live (AP-T). And HVAP does less after Pen damage than APHE.

When attacking from above you dont need excess penetration, APHE has more than enough and more after pen damage.

It already had its optimum belt (for Enlsited) on the Test server. AP-T/HEI-T.

Theres not really anything else you can do to it except provide the ability to change ammo belts

ah, still surprised they used the pulk instead of any other 262

He gave truthful information that the A-2 Jabo can carry two 500kg bombs.

no it cant, it looks like it can but everything about jabo’s payload states that the 262 can only carry up 500 kilos in bombs

If you can do it
