what is the meaning of the icon at left of the soldiers portrait and bottom of the soldiers type/class and why it have two dots in some soldiers and others are just one??

They indicate the level (for want of a better word) of the solder, e.g. Rifleman I, II, or III, and so on.

Tiers of soldier

I try to use level for stars and tier for, well, tier. Keeps it from being too confusing. Lol
