When I heard we were getting a new 76 cannon tank in Normandy I expected it to have better armour or some sort of difference to the lvl 36 M4A1 the only difference I can spot is the horsepower and rpm for the engine. Armour and gun seem the same.

Can someone enlighten me as to what is the point of this tank in game? Yes it can pen the Tiger but so could the previous tank.
the armor is only showing the strongest point of it, and with the m4a1 76 you get alot of weak points compared to the m4a2 76

Its the same with the panther A and panther G, its not really worth the grind but if you like the vehicle for esthetics or its history its nice to have it ingame
No, tiger will still one shot you anywhere, the hull is the same as the one used by the M4A2 that you unlocked at level 15. Also the armor of the M4A1 has a lot of rounded parts that acts has weak spots for tanks like the puma to go through.
Basically it the same as the M4A1 76 but we less bad armor (it is still quite bad) and better mobility due to a better engine. I think that M4A1’s top speed is 38 kph while M4A2 can achieve 45 kph.
That’s pretty disappointing if that is the case. I was hoping the tool tip display was bugged or something but wasn’t sure.

Looks wise the previous version looks cooler with the side armour.
So it’s a totally pointless level which is disappointing at level 40! You would think it would be something special considering the grind to get there.
Except in this game you’ll never see speeds above 15kph unless you’re going downhill on a paved road, so the difference is even more negligible.
They really need to improve the performance of vehicles on all roads conditions in this game: It gets frustrating being outpaced by infantry.
Bruh I know exactly what you mean. Even with max upgrades I bet theres only a 3mph difference ingame.
I hear the grip is messed up too. I dont tank as much as i used to but recently i find they have barely any pushing power. Such as a tiger cant push a small tree over or strugles to get past obstacles like other tank carcasses. Seems … off.
Meh, its really just filler in the end, not everything need to have a use or be unique, having these gap fillers is nice sometimes.
i understand how you feel and i feel the same with the panther g, but im happy to expand my collection with a similar tank to the one i already use
M4A2 has a higher top speed compared to the M4A1 because of the GM Diesel engine it has compared to the M4A1’s radial. You also have the armor thing mentioned earlier. Personally, I don’t think the trade of better engine and slightly better frontal armor warrants a trade away from the track armor the M4A1 has, but that is just me.
now spot the difference between Panther A and Panther G, its also minor.
as a matter of fact and extra turret armor aside, Panther A is at least a bit faster than Panther G, so one could argue its actually a downgrade.

does game engine even recognize material of armor? cause i was under impression it only recognized steel width.

The premium jumbo has a 75mm gun and having access to APCR round.
You put filler in the middle of the cake not on the top… that is for the icing.
Speak for yourself I don’t like filler. Especially not at level 40. Most of the other campaigns has some incredible stuff at the end of the campaign, Tunisia, A20 with 12 rockets, Berlin, MG 15, King Tiger (H) and STG 44.
I’m less bothered by the Panther as Axis has the Tiger but US has those abysmal M18 and M10 tanks that are pretty useless. So in terms of tanks US just has the Jumbo and the option to run the 76 if you’re feeling like sneaking around.
I’m not biased I play as I play all sides but I just think US could use something a bit better + I’ve used the Jumbo for years and could do with an upgrade.
yeah my mistake… i forgot about that cause i know that premium jumbo can pen tigers (or at least it should based on WT wiki). overall it is even better than 76w jumbo cause it has better HE and it can fight cats.
The look of it, also supposedly the M4A2 is bit more mobile
The biggest difference that I noticed was speed and the ability to climb hills.
