So they look the same they have the same stats too. I assume K98D is pre merge stock weapon for Normandy since i have 250+ from it but why is it separated if it is the same weapon?

It the same in terms of stat but the cost are different
The (D) means it was the default rifle of the campain like in Normandy or Stalingrad, the rifle you got when you recrutied a new soldier. Without the (D) is a bought rifle like in Moskau or Berlin or with the new tech tree.
