What if the destruction was like in battlefield bad company2

I saw another guy make a post on this topic so I decided to add on to that what if it was like on bad company2 where when you damage a building enough it collapses and kills everybody inside wouldnt that be cool

Yes, it would be very cool, though I’m not sure the servers could handle it.

The devs have said a while ago that there would be no total destruction. what would be cool? Of course they do, but I don’t think they add it.

Would just remove all cover after two minutes.

Considering how fast we can destroy our already buildable cover and the current debris/miscellaneous cover like barrels and fences, the entire landscape would be flattened within the first 20 minutes of a match making it look like an average day on Foxhole.

You can rebuild those concrete bunkers and buildings, and dig trenches of different shapes

I’d like to see more damage caused to structures. Let’s say a building can lose its roof if it gets damaged enough, or the wooden floors collapse, pieces of equipment get thrown to the floor, etc. It does not need to be complete destruction though

A big issue comes down to system performance. Older PCs and ps4/xbox can only handle so much. The game felt so much better and fluid when I upgraded to ps5.
I’m hoping at some point they do what battlefield 2042 did and have separate updates and smaller modes for old gen and new gen. The 5 can do the big maps with 100 people but the 4 is limited to 64 still. They still get to play but on a smaller scale that works for their system.
Something needs to change because this game is in a loop of expanding its looks and functions and then removing or limiting those new features to keep old hardware in the same lobby with new.

Depends on the map but I remember total destruction wasn’t a thing in the Paris maps from Battlefield 3. Could kill some enemies with rubble by shooting an RPG on a building.

Too much realism for me. If all those soviet village buildings would be leveled by arty, it would just be AIDS. There would be no cover from arty or tank shells.

It didn’t work like that.
To destroy one building, you needed to destroy majority of walls to make it collapse. And even when collapsed, you could still its rubble as cover. They never completely vanished.

It was actually pretty decent game mechanics.

I’d like it only if there were sufficent mechanics that slowed people down and prevented run and gun shit and if grenades and explosive packs were more likely to injure the thrower than create massive craters or blow up walls of buildings.

Considering there is artillery, aircraft bombing, bomber raids, constant tank shells, etc. there would be no cover at all left in a matter of 5 min tops.

That’s not true, since battlefield is basically very similar in this matter. I think there can be even more vehicles present at one time.

That is true, you would still have lots of cover.
Battlefield also had way more people (not AI) running around with C4, Rocket launchers, helis, jets, tanks, APCs, ect. ect.
