Maybe time to start a player Union. Gain more control over the game and more of a say. What are your thoughts, good or bad.

I would take it a step further, player marriage.
jokes aside, the reason people make fun of this is because the concept of a “union” in the classic understanding is a bit farfetched. but it’s not impossible, theoretically you could have a large group of players who threaten to leave the game unless their demands are met. Some games in fact do have this; It’s present to some extent in Eve Online for example. Developers occasionally concede to certain demands from ingame entities who have proven they are willing to quit.
The problem is, that group of players is now a fat power bloc who aren’t necessarily much better at suggesting improvements than the developers.

I mean, to be fair, wasn’t there a boycott (although that word is a bit of a stretch, but I don’t know what else to call it) of Warthunder that actually worked and got positive change?

if you are going to do that, build one against EA first. there is billions of dollars to there first. can’t be mad if people are just following proven business models. take down the top dog and all will rethink their strategies

Unions don’t stop useless workers getting sacked - I was a delegate for 10 years and saw plenty of that - as long as it’s for fair reasons and due process is followed then it’s easy to do.
Alternatively it is so that unscrupulous employers have some check on using their power imbalance to drive everything to rock bottom.
a union is for people who can’t make a stand by themselves because they are afraid what others think. if something truly bothers you, you would do something about it. if you aren’t going to be the leader of the union and make a server and everything that you believe is best, no will come. People are glorified sheep that do what ever they can to be accepted. be the Shepard if you want sheep to follow
