What determines exp gain post battle?

So for the last 80 odd hours I was sure that experience gain was a 1:1 ratio between score earned in the battle which is then modified via the +50% for victory and +10-50% from battle awards. Only that doesn’t seem to be the case, take this screenshot for example. In the screenshot you can see I earned 6670pts from bullying Stuarts on D-day. However at the top of the screen where the experience breakdown is shown the base experience gained for this battle was 4175, a full 2495pts lower than I had expected. It gets worse as if you were to add the exp gain modifers from victory and awards thats 4740 exp that just didn’t appear.

So clearly that means that experience isn’t as simple as exp=score, so does anyone have any idea what actions give experience and which don’t. I’m not particular angry about this or looking to rant, I just want to try to find a more optimum means of progression.

By PTFOing.

Also known as playing the f****** objective. The more you play it, the more campaign experience you get. Farming kills doesn’t award that much.

If it’s anything like War Thunder, devs will allow players to have an approximate knowledge about what grants exp, but they will NEVER disclose the exact charts, to prevent exploitation from people farming the most rewarding activities and disregarding the rest, thus severely affecting gameplay.

There are multipliers that are labeled on the exp bar.
winning as well as each award gets you a multiplier.

I’m aware of that, what I was asking was about the base exp gain from a match before any modifers have taken effect, as I had previously been under the assumption that score earned during a battle directly correlated to base experience gained post battle.

Okay I put that to the test and spent an entire round parking my troops on an objective and the result was more experience gain than score, so yeah I think your on to something here.

I know i’m onto something because I PTFO and I walk out of nearly every match with 15k campaign exp or more.

Best way is to PTFO, and defensive invasion, murder enemies inside the cap zone. The XP just flies in.

XP is based off of a linear match length multiplier and a logarithmic score multiplier. The longer the match the more XP, even with similar scores.
