Okay, I have stayed in BR II matches for quite sometime and with a membership I decided to unlock a lot of the BRIII stuff before I move into it. Well tonight is the night and I’m all confused. I KNOW the 35th infantry brigade can lvl them up because that’s the squad you get when you lvl up to get the M1. No my question is : What other squads if any can lvl the M1 up too if I use them in a different “squad”? I would like to think any that you can equip an M1 on but I’m afraid that is not the answer. Can someone help me? This shouldn’t be so confusing. Same as the Thompson. Got that, but I don’t know that any soldier that can equip it can level it up? Any help to this very confused player is appreciated!!!

It doesnt matter which weapon you use, the only thing that matters is the squad that you use and which weapon is tied to that squad.
You can use any weapon you like in that squad, it will still level up the weapon that is tied to that squad.

Thank you, so that is the only unit I have that will lvl up the M1 correct? I don’t know if I’m just stupid or this stuff really is that confusing. Because you can put an M1 on any soldier you have in any unit and it will allow you to click on it and go to the upgrade screen for the M1. I don’t think it should be that way it’s too confusing. Not only the M1 but all guns. Either make it to where any soldier that can equip it be ably to lvl it up or make it so if you do have it equipped on a soldier that can’t lvl it up not be able to go to the lvl up screen for it, if that makes any sense.
Just so I’m very clear here. This is the ONLY unit of guys I have that will lvl the M! up?

Unlocking the M1 garand does not come with a squad.
The 35th infantry brigade can not upgrade the M1 garand, but 4 thompsons variants.
Yes only the 109th engineer II squad can upgrade the M1 Garand.
(pls note there are also 2 sniper garands available, but we are talking about the regular one here)

Each squad has at least 1, but often multiple, weapons tied to it. In order to level up the weapon, you must level up the squad and put the squad upgrade points into the weapon. The squad upgrades have 3 tabs. The squad itself, the soldier type (Rifleman, Mortarman, Engineer II, Sniper III, whatever), and the weapon tied to that squad. Once you level it up from the upgrades tab, you can upgrade any of that weapon to the level you unlocked. Regardless of what squad it’s in
