Whant happened to bombs?

Did this update seriously weaken the aircraft’s bombs? After my test, taking the Moscow campaign as an example, the 250kg bomb of the bf110 fighter could not cause effective damage to the tank when it exploded at a distance of about 2 meters from the Soviet tank. This is seriously inconsistent with the power of the bomb before the update. Weakened the bombs, but when I found out that Stuka’s 500kg bombs couldn’t destroy enemy tanks at this distance, I couldn’t bear it.

Secondly, can someone explain why the t28 can deflect 500kg bombs? In a battle, I was surprised to find in the playback that my bomb hit the enemy tank, but it was ricocheted by its less than 50mm thick armor and exploded not far away. As a result, the t28 even had its tracks intact. This is a half-ton bomb! Then I noticed something even weirder in the training ground, our bombs were rolling on the ground! If it’s a 50kg bomb then I think that’s normal, but can you explain how a half ton bomb can do somersaults on dirt and not concrete?

Third, after my personal testing, I found that the control of the aircraft is significantly more difficult than before the update, is it because of the changed aerodynamic parameters? If yes, I would like to see a visible notice in the update announcement

Because gijin logic… Bombs and rockts been a isue for a long time since this game came out. Well befor they blew up on impack but it was so long ago I dont rember if they bounced back then. But yes its defently inconsistant when it comes to damage. 109s and FW didnt kill plains ya had to unload every thing and reload 3 times to shot down the same plan ya unloaded on the first 2 on. FW seemed ok but I know 109s whenrt working right I never tryed agin.

I just player moscow and I had wtf moment when I couldn’t pull up and crashed.
So maybe they idi comething.

So far I can only say that they added airbrakes to stuka and planes have hard time to pull up.

Il2 type3 on Berlin is a mess, you can barely control the damn thing yet alone align for a bombing run. and when you do manage to bomb you can’t pull up in time

Yeah, I have the same problem now.

But it’s weird the way it does it, the planes nose goes up but you still fall to the ground. I would compare it to drifting in cars where from wheelspin and inertia you go sideways yet steering only corects the angle of your drift

Yes, after this update I can no longer do the big dives like I used to do with the Stuka, because it will be difficult to pull up next, or not at all, and I still think a 500kg bomb will Bouncing is abnormal

also 6x250 kg bombs drop near a tank with no effect is weird. Sorry but 1500kg of explosive going off 10m from a tank should kill anyone inside. Not to mention the crater that would be created

Ohhh …so they changed something with airplane mechanics in this update ?

I was wondering why i have hard time pulling up and missing tanks sometimes out of sudden
I guess that explains why

Yes for sure something has changed.
I tested my SBD-3 Dauntless (max upgraded) in practice and now it flies like a heavy schoolbus.
Almost like it’s not upgraded anymore but worse.
Looks like we need to try harder.
The bombs seem ok so far.
I dropped a load of 1x1000 lb + 2x100 lb and killed to tanks without hitting them.

planes became weird after the update, its surely a bug…

Well, maybe the power of bombs is still debated, but large ricochet bombs still exist. I wonder if you have encountered them?

Game in Moscow, encountered 2 stukas in my IL2, snuck close behind them, unloaded everything i had in them, they got damaged, i had to turn back to resupply, 0 damage on my plane and flying at 400+ speed (apparently after update the upgraded IL2 can go that fast). Suddenly i see green tracers, i look back and that stuka that i just uloaded everything i had in it is on my tail keeping up with my undamaged plane. After i rearmed, he ran out of ammo and turned back so i started engaging him again, we got back to the cap zone and he suicide bombed. I unloaded almost twice into it and i couldn’t destroy it.
This happend to with both stukas

Funny part is that last night i was clipping wings of HS-123s one after another, one short burst and the wings came off. 5 in total in one game

Just used the Beaufighter and the SBD in Tunisia battle and they were just fine imo.
Not at all as bad as earlier in practice.
Flying, bombs, rockets all good.
Weird stuff but all is well as far as I am concerned.
Also the cockpit inside is improved, we now have hands that control the plane.

I’ve only flown floatplanes since the update so I would have to test the others, but they seem controllable to me.
Bombs you almost need infantry spotting on the ground, or for the replay mode to work in a useful way.
I feel like the hit cam makes it look like you’re closer than you really are, and likes to make shrapnel look more significant than it is.

I only flown the Japanese floatplane (the first one) and it was surprisingly nimble and controllable. On the other hand it hasn’t got forward firing machine gun. :open_mouth:
