Fairly new to the game just about level 8 but I’m wondering if players actually enjoy the game if they are F2P? Seems more of the same, wallet warriors absolutely creaming everyone & you are usually dead before you even see the other guy. I was hoping for a bit more of a level playing field, probably stupid on my part lol. When you get in the top 6 with 9 kills, it seems like a major imbalance in the teams, great for the other guys but crap for the losing team. I think the most frustrating part so far is the absolutely useless squad members, are they there just to pad the kill count for the other team, seems that way. Most of the time they are facing the wrong way & never shoot anything, very unsatisfactory.
I think I won’t be lasting long in the game, but I was wondering what others thought. Does it get better or should I ditch it like playing tanks in War Thunder?
well since u havent paid anything yet , i think u should play while it still install , just get ur basic rifle and go outside get some kills and then delete the game later.
Yes, many do, but mostly those that started early on. Most meta weapons are available for free but require a lot of commitment to obtain. Time invested into the game grants the largest advantage as you are able to build better squads, acquire better weapons, and collect collect rare event weapons. At the moment there is no fair matchmaking other than your first few matches being against bots. However, in a future update the game will be reworked and feature an equipment-based matchmaker.
The game has a meh playerbase split into 6 groups at the moment. It is forecasted to improve in the future.
The AI is indeed somewhat lackluster, most players rely on them as backup spawns and keep them behind the front lines. You can increase AI performance by marking enemies (they focus on marks) and if possible; equipping them with automatic weapons. Anyhow, the bots make for a more authentic experience in my opinion as they better reflect the scale of the war.
I would recommend trying campaigns such as Moscow which are somewhat more chill. But, if that still doesn’t bring you an enjoyable experience; consider visiting the game in a few months (exact date TBD) when the rework occurs.
Nah i wouldn’t play for long if i were f2p, you are so limited with slots and xp gain is pitifully slow without at least premium. You get some cool stuff from events so it’s not completely bad for f2p players.
You should consider buying battlepass once for $10 and grind it to the max you will get your premium currency back and you will be able to buy next season for free, also more important you will get a lot of stuff that helps you to grind and buy weapons/soldiers and also gold orders (top tier weapons are gold order weapons and normal guns not a premiums).
Better keep an eye on the events they will be giving away paratroopers for free again for Soviets and Axis i have feeling that they will be top tier squads.
I know everyone has their own perspectives and all that, but sometimes I say to myself don’t people just enjoy playing a WW2 sandbox shooter or enjoy playing this game in the first place
Yes yes grind level up and all that, but do some people not even have fun? Obvious yeah we’re all leveling up to get new toys but I just enjoy the ride
I love the game, heck I never even quit if the team is losing because why would I, I enjoy my time regardless
well in case u said that , might as well just quit. Its good to drop something that doesnt fit you before it consume you to death and its morally right to do so.
Usually if you start to realize when, where and how to move around, it becomes easier, but if you can’t hit a thing and get instakill everytime, just quit.
i have been f2p for 3 years and i do enjoy the game. Currently it is petty unbalanced due to the merge hysteria but when the major update comes it should get better. Customs are perfect if you want to relax but sadly they give you little xp.
well good thing about the game that it is not p2w and there are no overwhelming advantage to having premium(although some exists). they all need to grind all the weapons same as f2p players and most of the premium squads are same or worse alternatives to everything you can get as f2p. some gold order weapons can be much better than free alternatives, but they are limited and f2p players can also get them with little grind and luck.
this is not wallet warrior, but mostly veterans.
yep there is big imbalance. cause there are 6 campaigns with 12 sides playerbase is unevenly distributed along them. in some campaigns some sides can have 20-100% more human players and difference on other side is made up by bots that are pretending to be human. upcoming merge (Soon™) with new MM should solve that imbalance regarding sides and will put you in matches against similarly equipped opponents. skill difference will still exist, but matches should be more balanced than before.
yes bots are there to pad kills for enemy team, but they also serve as specialist that you can switch to when you need something done and for them to be mobile spawn point when you character dies.
it gets better as you learn game mechanism and maps. till merge you may want to try to grind easier campaigns/side, something like moscow allies, berlin axis or pacific allies.
just treat the AI like free respawns and nothing else. You will be less frustrated.
There are some things you can do to make them slightly more effective, like single orders, wide formation and gear, but i still wouldnt expect anything.
Most of it is on you to find a seam/flank to punch through
There are only 2 premium squads you need to worry about, and they are both in tunisia (flamers).
All other squads are easily matched or bested in free tech.
Getting slaughtered is generally vets more than gear.
May I ask in campaign and faction you reached 8 lvl?
Some campaigns with certain factions are straight up unenjoyable if not unplayable no matter how much money you spend.
We are just before a major update which will fix many problems but until then some factions are full of high level very experienced players and the other is full of clueless smucks and AI.
Factions I would not advise playing as a new player: Moscow Axis, Tunisia Allies, Pacific Axis, Berlin Allies.
Moscow allies seem to lose more then win from what I find. EU/US servers are what I play on sooo IDK, Seems to me axis knows what their doing vs allies atm.
Pacific axis is weird, I’ve seen games where they have crushed us, been on teams which have crushed, but it seems to be a “get crushed or crush” campagin atm.
Tunisia allies have fallen hard.
Berlin allies is dead.
So basically at least don’t try Berlin and tunisia allies.
Not really i need to tryhard like crazy to win those axis matches, while as Allies i can just play as usual and still win most of them. But that’s mostly because Axis don’t have as many players as Soviets, but if there are 10vs10 players then Axis has the advantage due much faster cap times.
data from last week of october shows that ratio of players in crossplay on moscow is 1.25:1 for allies. so allies still have 25% human advantage over axis.
That’s not a really bug difference, especially since from my experience, soviet players are extremely clueless in comparison to german mains.
Until you encounter soviet 4-stack, that’s insta loss in few minutes.
Games like enlisted are very time consuming. For example, I have 2000 battles and something like 24 days of pure game time. (I started to play it ± a year ago)
If people aren’t willing to occasionally drop money into something they’ve spent that much time in. They really go hard against themselves. At this point, this game only by itself could be considered as one of my hobbies.
Of course I’m not talking about kids and students. And for casual players I would never recommend any f2p live service game. For them it would make far more sense to buy a AAA game and console. They’ll be happy, AAA games nowadays are made basically only for them, not for true gamers.
