Just got out of a match where one point could not be contested at all because of constant artillery for the entire duration of the game. The entire gameplay was focused on the OTHER two points as one of them was completely inaccessible.
Nerf the perk. It is far too spammed, it is not fun in the slightest. I’d rather get deleted at spawn by planes than deal with this. This is actually that bad.
Completely agree here. At first, I hadn’t really experienced this all too much. But then recently I got into a few conquest games where this happened and I now know how annoying it can be. Super annoying can’t even get onto certain points when this happens. Idk who thought that giving players unlimited use arty which can be activated every 30 secs was a good idea
PRECISELY!! The firing time for arty and the cooldown for it are just waaaay too even and way too close to one another. Just like wtf. I know these devs aren’t dumb or anything. Bc games are incredibly challenging to develop and it takes some intelligent people to develop something like this. So it’s just like, who tf worked out these numbers, and thought “Yeah this is a good idea”??
Yeah the artillery in this game. Can give you ptsd. Especially on invasion when defending. A combinations of radio arty and mortar fire. Oh and a m8 scott firing into the cap. Just no chance and we got bombed to smittereens
In the meantime, can we all make a pact and not abuse these poorly thought-out systems? I’ve been in matches where people on my team were using minethrowers/artillery strikes from areas inaccessible to the enemy, and their line of defence was always: “the game allows me to do it, so why shouldn’t I?”.
So can we please just all aggree to not do that until this is eventually fixed? Our bodies allow us to fart - doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to do it everytime you feel like it.
O I totally agree that arty in its current state is a nightmare. It can’t stay this way. Meanwhile I’m afraid that the radio squad will be a little weak if the time is improved well beyond the 30 seconds and thus I am tinkering around with ideas how to get a hold of the problem. Another approach would be no to mess to much with the intervals of arty but with a time depnding target restriction. It may not be the easiest thing codewise but a limit how often a specific part can be targeted in a certain time. Say 90seconds and if your arty strike overlaps with an area affected by arty in the last 90seconds you get a essage that an arty strike on that area is impossible at the moment like “Can’t do that Sir! Because XYZ”.
What’s wrong with me…still trying to find an intermediate solution when coming from a defending the last spot on D-Day vs 2 people spamming arty+mortar+Jumbo
Technically, when you use the arty it takes 20 seconds for full fire effect then after fire effect (arty hitting the ground) 10s of nothing before you can launch it again, making the timer not really 30 secs but more 10 seconds in between each strike, add multiple players using arty and you will get a non stop Sh*tfest lol
Why are so many people complaining about artillery when mortars exist? Mortars are literally 5 times worse. They’re constant, do more damage, are an absolute pain in the ass to find and kill, and people just sit on them the entire game farming kills on points.
I love mortars and artillery! I don‘t use them often but they are great for the atmosphere and for the gameplay. You have to choose different tactics if you encounter heavy artillery or mortar fire.
Also you can send out Stoßtrupps to search and destroy enemy mortars or radiomen.
So mortars are fine for me, for the artillery I agree to change it from 30s to 45s.
Artillery spawn is a real problem no in Enlsited. 30 sec is way too muc. Imo 1 min or 1 min 20 sec is would be better than current reload time. Mortars means also a big threat for soldiers…but at least its need a bit more precision for Mortar using people.
Mortars: I dont know guys…a bit Damage reduction (nerf) is what need? or any other idea? Blast radious nerf? hm…
How about a map indicator giving roughly the position on the map so it can be countered by other mortars/artillery or planes?
Because the above mentioned idea of sending out a Stoßtrupp to kill the mortar squas simply doesn’t work in 95% of cases because they are deployed in the restricted part of the map. On an invasion map a mortar player and also a lot of arty spammers will just it in the art of the map which isn’t accesable for the other team and rain explosives on the capture points.
