It would be cool if we could have weapons as M1 Carbine for more classes than only for trooper. It would be cool as it would give this classes more options
Examples below:
M1 Carbine = Assaulter/Trooper
FG-42 = Trooper/Machinegunner
M2/M2A1 Carbine = Assaulter/Trooper
Irl, they weren’t really considered a combat weapon per se, I mean they were certainly used in combat but they were given to soldiers with support roles, they were issued in lieu of pistols, in fact later in the war most 45s were withdrawn and those who had them issued M1 carbine’s, most US rifle squads only had a couple of them the rest of them were M1 grands late war, I have started to use them recently in Tunisia, when fully upgraded they’re not half bad, I find them actually easier to use than the G 41, I really don’t like the site picture on the G 41.
Yeah, you’re right however it would be cool if some weapons could be used by more than one class (not nessecerly listed here)
Shotguns should be added for engineer and maybe some other specialists.
Shotguns really weren’t a thing irl for Combatants, there were some used in the Pacific in the jungles, but I recall reading somewhere that you weren’t actually supposed to use shotguns as it violated some convention but I’m a bit vague on that detail wise.
There was no convention, just Germans in WW1 raising a big stink about “Shotgun OP” and demanded it be banned (so Wheraboos haven’t changed whatsoever in the last century) however in WW2, Shotguns didn’t work very well as close quarters combat was mostly done in urban settings, and shotguns were typically outclassed in urban areas, especially against other things in the American arsenal and were thus relegated to prison guards and other rear echelon troops. The reason the US didn’t just outright remove them from service is because they was easy to train people to use as most Americans were familiar with the mechanisms of a pump action shotgun, which made it perfect for people you don’t really expect to need to shoot at anyone but want to give them the option just in case.
Also De Lisle Commando Carbine could be used by Snipers as well
