The matchmaking indeed does have its own issues and i think -0+ is the best way to go. Still better than everything vs everything in the old campaigns

No it didnt. Panzer 3b wasnt used after france, mp 28 was only for ss and police, ppd 34 was rare, federovs were all used in winter war, panzer 4f2 didnt exist etc. The old campaigns were never historical
It still made much more sense, because PPD actually existed in 1941-42 instead of PPS-43 (1943)
And this applies for every other thing with just some exceptions (Like you mentioned PzKpfw. IV F2)
It is not the same at all. Fedorov and avs combo is much more broken than pps 43 and mosin

True. But you had an option to choose the map you want to play in. Instead of this mess. But if you like the merge I don´t have anything against it 
Still doesnt explain anachronistic panzer 4f2 and jumbo for an example

Both are unhistorical. The devs have made multiple compromises over the years to make the game balanced. It was only an matter of time until we would reach postwar.
Either way the devs said that they will update the mm rules in the new update. This will hopefully mean that br 5 will be only fighting br 5
“Preffered maps” Does that mean that you´ll just be able (Like in WoT) to ban one map for a week? So you won´t play it.

you should separate I-IV from V or else no one gonna bother play BR IV where the most WW2 content is in
