I don’t want to rain on the shotgun enthusiast’s parades here but the Ithaca 37 never had the 7 round magazine in WW2. Wasn’t until Vietnam that it got any sort of magazine extension.
The pictured 37 has a 4 shot magazine. Also, where are the heat shields and bayonet lugs for the US shotguns?

The Japanese equipped bayonet mounts only on donated double barrel hunting shotguns, the Auto 5 wasn’t even used militarily but by the Police at the time.
Might’ve made for a more interesting choice than the same Auto 5 we already have for the allies.
