No. Not with the scientific method at least. It’s the same thing with God: cannot PROVE He doesn’t exist therefore scientists are forced to acknowledge the POSSIBILITY of His existence (which annoys them greatly).
You can just say “I don’t like the mkb42h I don’t want it in those campaigns” and it will make more sense and also be honest at least
I’m glad it’s present in both campaigns. It’s a fun gun.
I have no intention of getting into this high-flying conversation, BUT
True. But in 1942 it still managed to produce 1000+ pieces. But, what was characteristic of the Germans was that the prototypes were hoped for a miracle and were always deployed in some large-scale operation (see panther).
The Sixth German Army capitulated at the end of January 43.
But yes. The first deployment of mkbh 42 was in the Kholm Pocket. Where was taken by air.
See the third. It is possible that they could have collected at least one piece here.
I refuse to engage in civil discussions with people who group players by “mains”.
I have equal play time for both factions in all campaigns. And yes, T-50 in Moscow is bad, MKB in Stalingrad is bad, you don’t have to be a “main” to raise questions about issues.
Once again, you are missing the IF clause in the beginning of the radio ops sentence. Read again.
I just laid out the facts and how there is zero evidence of MKB ever being in Stalingrad.
Check the concept of Burden of Proof: it lays on the side which claims that something happened and goes as far as Roman Law.
You can’t just say “we will never know if Andy stole my wallet or not, there is no proof that he didn’t”.
But once again, the thread is not about that.
True, but surrounded in November 42. Point being, would you airdrop your latest tech to troops in risk of being captured?
What is the source for that claim?
But once again, the thread is not about that.
The earliest accounts of the weapon showing is April 1942. Stalingrad I could have the benefit of the doubt, Moscow no. Moscow ended months before it’s earliest use. With the Jumbo, they were shipped out in August 1944, which was the tail end of Operation Overlord, so they JUST made it into the timeframe. This is practically like bringing the AK-47 into Berlin since it wasn’t made too long after.
People who want the game to try and hold some semblance historical accuracy and chronological logic. Again, I have no problem with the MKb42 in Stalingrad. We have prototype weapons in game, but those are either premium or gold order, the MKb42 in Moscow should be that at this point in time.
Almost without exception, Gordon Rottman - The AK-47: Kalashnikov-series assault rifles book are cited as the source. I don’t know where he gets this himself, but I doubt he intends to lie. At least he wouldn’t gain anything from it.
Not to belittle anyone, but I just glanced at the book, the author and what he says (e.g. that Hugo Schmeisser worked on the AK-47 which is simply false, a myth that has been busted numerous times, the documents are declassified at Izhevsk and anyone can check which projects Schmeisser was involved in, and which projects were restricted for the German engineers, like the AK program which was classified until mid-50s), so he does claim this “Cholm 35 MKBs” incident but without citing any documents.
I highly doubt it, especially since no other reputable source claims the same.
Even supposing the 35 MKBs appeared somewhere near Leningrad (allegedly), there is still no link to the Stalingrad front (note the kurz ammo they constantly need), and by that logic they could have travelled anywhere from Finland to Tunisia.
The fact that he does not mention a source is obviously questionable, but he cannot list all his sources because a new book would come out of it. But I don’t see the point in mentioning this case if it hadn’t come up somewhere in research. It could have taken care of so much that it was then started to be manufactured and then became 10,000 pieces. It’s weird that he names a specific event.
Because no one is researching the topic. Insignificantly. Anyone who is dealing with the eastern front of the given period does not care where the mkb first appeared.
That’s right, and that’s enough for developers. As you said, there are countless weapons and vehicles that certainly didn’t show up in a battle.
But if fate had brought it, it would be available. Even beyond this, there are problematic assets (e.g. mkb in moscow). But overall, this is an acceptable mistake for the sake of balance. This is not a simulator game. If that were the case, half of the Soviet soldiers would not have rifles and / or ammunition in Stalingrad. And the Germans would always lose anyway.
Why for christ sake is everybody crying for a nerf of german weapons in stalingrad?
I really dont get it!
Stalingrad is the best balanced campaign of all. I have the highest win rate ratio between Soviets and Axis here.
It is equally fun to play and the MKB is not that serious game changer, why do russian main players believe that? It is just a serious hype against that weapon for no reason. For absolutely no reason!
Use the PPSH or the PPS42 (Which is incredibly good IMHO) and the AVT-40. 15 rounds? so what? That gun is a beast on the field. I win 8 out of 10 games as soviet and 9 out of 10 for axis and I feel no difference.
Only reason I would say the campaign might be inbalanced? THE PLAYERBASE!
And yet I feel a shift towards the soviets as it seems that most players have maxed out the axis and doing it so for the soviets.
The only thing, IMHO, which is stupid is the captured BREDA MG gun. Soviets could get the MG34 for example. The breda is simply obsolete after 3-5 games depending your lousy playstyle. (Zaytsev players)
This isn’t true if you played the event. I normally main Moscow, so I don’t have a lot of experience with other campaigns unless an event is playing or a challenge requires me to. During the event, the MKb proved to be better than most Soviet weapons, although, of course, not impossible to beat. I played 40+ games as Axis, lost twice. I played somewhere between 5-10 Allied, won once or twice.
I have an issue that a captured gun is the most common Soviet MG rather than the fact that it becomes obsolete. It should have at least been a lend-lease, or a soviet weapon.
I don’t think nerfing is the best option, I think, for one, to remove it where it realistically doesn’t make sense (Moscow) and instead have some other option or feature that limits the amount of them used in events like “Not a Step Back!”
I think you make some good points here but the BMW example is too weird to aid your cause. Without lack of proof for or against it the importance lies with the probability of a claim. And while it’s absolutely absurd to assume Stalin could have had an BMW X5 it’s not at all improbable that MKbs would have been used in Stalingrad.
Battle of Stalingrad was the most important battle of the time it took place.
It therefor appears improbable that the Wehrmacht wouldn’t have supplied the best they had at this moment.
The MKb was already airdropped before into a pocket during its testing phase. „The gun saw action as early as April 1942 when 35 of the only 50 prototypes then in existence were parachuted into the Kholm Pocket near Leningrad as part of a resupply of the defenders.
That being said the amount of MKbs were likely very small at that time. Darkflow blended historical accuracy before with the Jumbo for balancing reasons and it didn’t kill the game. But if they would want to turn Stalingrad into a more credible campaign they would have to turn it into a gold order weapon or make it just an available option for like 1 person per squad. Then though with the game being the way it is the whole troops would run around with Kiralny and ZH-29 which wouldn’t be too credible either…
You are over thinking this.
Guns fire slower in the cold. Muscles don’t work as well in the cold. That’s just physics friend.
This game balanced the guns perfectly.
As a gun addict, this game is more realistic than any other MMO I have ever player.
In fact the gun physics are WHY so many veterans and gun lovers play this game.
