Weapon progression, modifications and ease of life

Much like what war thunder does with the tank modifications, i think Enlisted should implement a similar modification system, this will fill the void between researching new units, keep the player busy and keep a sense of Progression. keeps players busy as well as keeps the ‘grind’ alive, people may complain about the grind, but at the end of the day, its what keeps a game such as war thunder alive, as people are always striving to Finish a ‘‘tree’’. reducing progress time just reduces the life of the game. having a ton of extra ‘‘unlocks’’ will increase the longevity of the game

i would suggest, for an example. the K98

modifications

  1. Cleaning kit, this is to reduce random jams, misfires etc , much like what FPE and Repair kit works in War thunder, it adds a sense of realism too, as a weapon needs to be maintainedunnamed (1)

  2. stripper clips, add this as a unlocked ‘‘modification’’ you’ll start off with manually reloading each round, and eventually unlocking the stripper

  3. Bayonet, to help with Melee, bayonet will do more damage than the butt of the weapon, perhaps making it a 1 hit with a bayonet thrust, whilst the butt is a 2 hit.unnamed (2)

  4. Rifle Grenade attachment, this only needs to be available for certain roles, such as perhaps the bomber, however can be unlocked by playing primarily the K98k.unnamed

  5. K98k Sling, this is unlocked to improve the weapon handling, as well as needed to enable the perk/ability to carry a primary and secondary weapon, without it, it would be impossible, perhaps making it the second upgrade, after cleaning rod tr328-0

I would personally be against these upgrades.
1: cleaning: I prefer to think that they should make it so higher ranked soldiers make guns jam less/not jam at all
2: stripper clip: only comes into play during reloads from empty and historically every soldier had them, nobody would go out with only loose rounds.
3: bayonets would be supposedly seperate weapons, I think it should simply be an attachment
4: rifle grenade kinda same as point 3

yeah, i get the historically , each soldier would be issued with it, however, for progression purposes, to increase the longevity of the game, they might need to be added, much like how war thunders modification system works, I mean, realistically. you would not have to ‘‘unlock’’ fpe and different ammo variants, but for the sake of adding meat to the game. its worth it.

i agree that having jams occur more often with lower ranking soldiers, however, they could make it that the cleaning kit reduces the frequency of it occurring to lower level players. since in order to get higher level soldiers, you’d need to be playing them anyway, so by that point, you would have already unlocked the cleaning kit. see it as a way to reduce jams with your green soldiers when first starting out.

  1. bayonets should definitely be both a separate or an attachment. with the ability to attach or detach from weapon, the bayonet attached will have a longer killing range.

  2. Rifle Grenade, should be an attachment, but only available for certain classes.

Modifications in war thunder are borderline P2W on top tier vehicles, as it takes very, very long to unlock the top tier round, making people that pay for the modifications have an advantage. The current RNG progression with enlisted is bad enough as it is, it does not need this.

I myself stopped leveling 1* troopers, as you can get higher level troopers from the orders. You get those often enough to just delete 1* troopers and play with 2-4* ones.

  1. no, the cannon would be cleaned before the battle, no jams at all (except for machinegun)

  2. what do you mean manually? i will have to select ammo, and then cannon breech? definitely a NO

  3. bayonet makes it so melee attacks are done faster, butt shall be kept 1 hit (but some kind of defence againt melee attacks should be implemented

  5. sling is basic equipment of soldier, no need to do additional work here

He meant that 1 bullet at a time is loaded instead of a whole clip

reloading would become insanity

not really, right now if you fire all but one bullet in the magazine, the reload animation will put 4 rounds in, one after the other
