Weapon performance Improvement (fix) : Charlton automatic rifle

Through the veteran box, I obtained the Charlton automatic rifle squad. After a brief test, I think its performance has been weakened for no reason.

Rate of fire
Currently in game it has 430 rpm, It’s a bit slow to be honest.
From the operating manual, we can know that its rate of fire in fully automatic shooting is 700RPM.

Reload speed
Its reload speed is also pathetically slow in US faction lmg

Damage
The Charlton automatic rifle is modified from BA rifle and retains the rotating bolt action, so I think it should be better than LMGs that use other locking, cause it is basically an auto SMLE.

I think its damage should be the same as that of SA Rifle: Farquhar-Hill Rifle, Turner SMLE which also uses British .303.
So 13.2 → 16.8 (I don’t know why it is this number, it’s even higher than Garand. Maybe they all should be lower)

Recoil
The recoil also needs to be adjusted. It has a foregrip and a muzzle brake. I don’t understand why its recoil is higher than those BARs with only handguards.

Moving Dispersion
The foregrip is designed to facilitate hipfire marching, and same it shouldn’t be any worse than BARs.

Summarize
After these changes the Charlton automatic rifle may actually become a meta weapon and need to be upgraded to BR3, but I think it is worth it because setting reasonable statistics according to the weapon characteristics is more important.

Don’t you dare. Im after this squad specifically for BR 2 games. It has to be on lower side of things to keep its BR. Incase you havent noticed a lot of equipment isnt up to parr with real life. Its a game and such balancing is required.

Yeah, so I think move to BR3 is reasonable.

Weapons should be faithfully represented and then decide their BR.
Like we shouldn’t have a BR2 StG and nerf it to hell.

The current environment already has good level 3 machine guns
I think a better way would be to give other variants or name changes to the same type of weapon
This keeps the original weapons and provides other options

You’re missing my point, this gun shouldn’t be this bad in its “original form”, I’ suggested fixing it instead of just buffing it.

US faction has good lmg in BR2 and 3. So there’s no need to mess up a gun just to fill in BR2.

No! They definitely do not. The bren and vickers are terrible and ridiculously hard to play with on console effectively. U.s. needs atleast 1 low BR MG that doesn’t have an offset sight with shark fin mags on top.

Literally all other low BR MGs have the same set up whether it be event gun, gold order or TT. Besal, the new gold order chat-whatever, vickers, bren 1, bren 2…

I aggree. This is the only lmg squad i run at low BR because it has decent open top and clean sights.

It moving to br3 would be a shame.

Though i do wish its reload was a bit quicker given the small mag

I feel mag size is great for br2. Its reload is also not bad as long as you reload before empty

All it needs a better recoil and dispersion, right now you can’t even hit anything if you stand, even while crouching gun bounces all around the screen.

It could get higher rof to match fully upgraded ZB-26 but then it would go back again to the unaccurate firing like with the current iteration.

I only use M24/29 and Vickers, Besal got nerfed for no reason and it’s almost as bad as the Charlton (recoil wise), all of those except Carlton have awful visibility while ads due mags obscuring half of their screen. So yeah they are not that great.
Buffing and upping it to BR3 would make it compete against BAR and Colt monitor where it would lose almost every time.

i havent use this squad in a while and from my experience it feel fine tbh after going back and trying them post merge

i just use it like a semi auto instead of full auto but i do occasionally use full auto in close range

But its performance is reasonable, no “extra nerf”.
Then be assigned to BR2.
