Like the title said do weapon no longer sometime get free upgrade? if not i feel like that should come back tbh
No I think it was removed to “reduce randomness” or some lazy explanation like this one.

But random perk points for soldiers stayed. Truly, randomness is a problem only when players have to spend less money than more.

tbh removing that might hurt the game more since now you cant have free upgrade that can save you a lot of time and money

Shitty for the possible newcomers, you have to buy the gun, and then buy at least 3 upgrades for it, we are talking something like 10k silver coins, for a newbie that’s gonna be a few matches.
Other thing, I have the breda 5stars because I got it before merge, and now the other one I have I cannot upgrade it, and my research machine gunners in all squads have already done that leveling up in the yellow (weapons) points zone.
yea that a problem that seem to be happening to a lot of people but not me yet since i havent upgrade anything
anyway could be a bug im gonna try it later
