I wanted to film weapon malfunctioning but after firing ~200 rounds from BA rifles, I didn’t have any malfunction. I haven’t noticed this before to be honest.
Probably it was removed when OBT started but that’s only my guess.
In my opinion it’s a bit sad, it could have been a nice way to balance some weapons, especially in CQC. And it was quite climatic.

I didn’t know that it was officially a thing. I have seen some sort of malfunction happen alongside a different bug however and thought it was funny how they had the weapons programmed to click when empty instead of automatically reloading like they do normally. I thought there was some leftover code or that they were indeed planning to add misfires.
I just realized the same thing when I wrote a post yesterday about how “bayonets will be gradually added like malfunctions” then I remembered I haven’t seen a malfunction in ages.

Sometimes it was questionable whether it was intended or not, but bolt actions used to have a very very obvious animation of the clip getting stuck on the way in while loading.
REALY??? THEY HAD THIS IN GAME AND REMOVED IT!!! I just cant believe it…

RNG weapon failures were a tedious pain

Jams were dumb
And I’m glad they’re gone

I liked them in STALKER but that’s a singleplayer survival game.

I would’ve preferred them if they weren’t backwards.
Bolt actions should be the most reliable, not the least.

Shitters complained endlessly about Muh RNG being responsible for their poor performance

They weren’t bad, but when my k98 jammed nearly 8 out of 10 reloads, something needed to change lmao
K98 was supposed to be the non-shit bolt action between it and the mosin

I cant believe they had it and removed it…

To be fair, it was just Mosins and German bolt actions that had it. Would’ve been pretty unfair for it not to be modeled on the Springfield or Enfield unless they’re waiting until those are ready.
Of course it’s been a little too long to assume it’s still happening.
Having bolts be the only thing that jammed was dumb, I agree.
Considering the acceptable rate of jamming for automatics back then it would be Conceivable to encounter them.
IMO bolts should be the only thing that doesn’t jam and is a fun balancing mechanic without arbitrarily nerfing terminal ballistics into the ground
Encourage anyone curious to look up the acceptable rate of jamming for the Thompson, m1 carbine etc

Yeah the malfunctioning made me chuckle when it happened in CBT. I was amused as it took me back to times I had been hunting and furiously cycling the bolt as a boy. (I learned to Shoot on an Enfield SMLE mk III)
