Weapon cosmetics/Battle wear/ levels

So the weapons look reallly good. I like the mosin alot. But the 1938 carbine looks a little… dinged up.

Is there a possibility we can unlock cosmetics to the weapons to make them look better/worse? Im not talking pink tiger stripe camo , but stuff that wont break immersion.

Stuff like new finishes with different colors (think reddish shallac finish for a mosin) , refinished metal , polished bolts , High gloss wood finishes. Maybe even different woods like that really sexy finnish mosin wood with the colors and patterns.

Or should the weapons at level 1 look all dinged up and dirty and as you level them up , they get prettier and prettier?

Im a fan of gloss stocked weapons and while its not exactly realistic i wouldnt mind having my mosins have a real shiney wood finish.

A: (short answer) Yes. we have many different ideas about improving customizations options in the game, first of all, of course we will have customization for vehicles, where we could add different decoration options and decals, but also of course, we are working for a customization system for infantry as well […] currently, we are at the stage where you can change how you character look, but only randomly. and we have plans to add more options to customize how your soldier looks like ( including how your helmet look like, decorations, ecc). we do plan of course to expand different cosmetic options for infantry to make people be able to stand off in the fight, but here we try to not exeed for point of balance, and asthetic ( such as, we will not see any soldiers with no punk hair styles, squad too much different within each soldier ending up looking like a mercenary band. ) but on the other hand, we are not going to be too restrictive about exact historical look. ( making jokes about prosthestic arms soldiers by mike in the meanwhile :3)

You are right, but I can have suspections and predictions. For me it’s logical that they will do the same for the weapons. Maybe they won’t implement it in the same update but certainly at some point in the future weapon customisation will come.

I guess I will be the odd one out but personally leave the weapon customization to a bare minimum. Maybe stock color yes like the OP said but have bizarre outlandish skins for weapons nah, leave that for COD. Maybe allow all troops across the campaigns to equip a bayonet is one thing for me personally much like RS2. But in terms of sights and weapon skins, nothing outlandish imo.
