This is exactly the problem. People forget about all the other smgs available for germany. No other faction gets as much of a variety in BR2 smgs than germany and there are some real bangers.
Germany:
berretta m38a - 690 RoF (even though it’s a “BR1” gun it performs exceptionally well in BR2 with it’s high fire rate and accuracy)
berretta m1918/OVP m1918 - 1040 RoF (good at close quarters)
ppsh 41 obrez - 1150 RoF (good at close quarters)
Berretta m38/42 - 630 RoF (great all around gun)
mp 35 - 620 RoF
mas38 - 810 RoF
soumi kp26 - 690 RoF
erma emp with silencer - 630 RoF
erma emp - 630 RoF (premmy squad)
mp18 - 690 RoF (really cheap premmy squad that feels quite good now)
mp-719(r) - 800 RoF (premmy squad)
There’s still half a dozen other br2 smgs, but these ones right here all stand out and perform well. Some may excell in certain areas with drawbacks in others, but they are ALL more than viable. I have heavily used all of these listed with the sole exception of the mp18 because it would be redundant for me to buy the squad at this point. I had/have zero complaints with these in my lineups.
If it was added after all there’s no need to turn it into trash. You can change almost any characteristics arbitrarily, depending on the need-this is almost a unique opportunity that was not used in any way, but it was sent to a place where no one will ever use it for sure
Pprobably part of the community is very happy about this, but I would like to see different types of weapons in this game - a variety. There is no place for a Uragan in the br 3 right now for sure
I mean there clearly is, look at the stats, its at least on par with the ZK-383, if not slightly better. And considering that many consider the ZK-383 the best german BR3 SMG, that seems good to me, (I know that is a bit less set in stone with the 40rnd Berretta now but I digress, imo I still prefer the ZK).
No German TT gun is as good as PPS43 - the new buffed BR2 Beretta closed the gap by quite some level, but it still has comparatively low rate of fire and overall killing time. I would say higher mag capacity and damage can be a fair comparison to PPS42, but 43 has clearly too high rpm for BR2 and even has slightly better dispersion than PPS42.
99% of forum creatures, including gaijin itself, dont understand technology, especially not details like model flexibility, factory dependence, field modifications etc.
its simply useless explaining anything here that goes beyond the 5th grade level of “my source says number x, so this is the only truth!”
edit: in todays video i explained a related issue with the pps43 regarding stamped smg production & barrel quality. basically all parameters of the gun can be flexible changed - within reasonable thresholds - as the production variance was very high.
fun fact: soviet post-war analysis documents described how there were ppsh41 models that broke after 1000 shots, and others that broke after over 50 000 shots. this type of deviation isnt just normal variance, its basically a completely different weapon at that point.
Tell me about it I explained them the most basic way how type 99 works :
‘’ A gas-operated firearm like the Type 99 light machine gun fires faster on a larger gas port because more gas pressure from the cartridge is directed to cycle the bolt This increased pressure acts on the piston and bolt assembly, driving it rearward faster and stronger, which in turn increases the cycling rate of the weapon and allows it to fire more bullets per minute."
Unfortunately Enlisted doesn’t incorporate variation amongst gun copies, so every pps43 will have the same rpm, the same dispersion, the same damage. And that’s because Enlisted is a game. Enlisted uses the stats of the guns which are backed by the most sources.
That’s all well and good, but Enlisted doesn’t account for sloppily made guns or defects, this is because Enlisted is a game and all ppsh41s in Enlisted are built to the same standard.
Oh dear, para division can’t handle reading a source. If the majority of primary sources state a gun had a certain rpm and these sources were correctly carried out, then yes I will cite that souce or sources.
Yes in real life guns stats varied from gun to gun, but Enlisted uses the stats of the guns as if they were made properly. So unfortunately you can’t just make up numbers without citing your sources, sorry.
Type 99 with 550RPM feels like a huge buff, the thing is so controllable now even when shooting and aiming without holding breath, no need to use bypod or lying down to make it effective and the mag lasts longer whilst more bullets hit due to better accuracy
Everyone who plays ussr knows that the pps42 is a better gun and will pick it over the 43 90% of the time. The 43 is almost exclusively a short ranged gun, similarly the berretta/ovp, ppsh obrez are close range guns with much higher RoF. Sometime you have to engage differently by the equipment you have. You can choose a gun that’s highly accurate at range and stay back, you can choose a gun with extreme fire rates and get up close.
I mean I play all factions, and the PPS42 can be better situationally, but honestly the PPS43 is better, its still accurate at range, even if not a laser beam like the PPS42, and it completely krumps in medium to short range.
Like there is a reason all the people who spam body armour and SMGs use the 43. Thankfully the people who feel the need to cycle body armour and 43’s at BR2 facing BR1 are normally so bad at the game, you can win with a BA against them.
