Personally, I think the Engineers are capable enough in their current state.
Tanktrap is quite cumbersome to remove in its current state., they can impede the bot’s pathfinding and block the tanks’ passage which is very limited on some maps. (And the tank player has to dismount once to remove it.)
Sandbags and barbed wire can be placed very quickly, and once in place, are very difficult for attackers to destroy.
If they are in a good vantage point, they can be easily destroyed by artillery fire from HMGs or tanks, but barbed wire still misses the blast and takes time to destroy.
If it is placed in a place where only infantry can enter, in a narrow corridor or indoors, it will be difficult to remove it. If there are no enemies, you can calmly remove them one by one with the J key, but there is basically no situation where there are no enemies near the obstacles.
You have to quickly neutralize the waiting soldiers while entering the enemy’s kill zone and destroying the building at the same time. This is a difficult task for a solo player.
As a result, the better way to attack such fortresses solo is to burn down the entire area at once with flamethrowers and white phosphorus bombs.
Further strengthening the engineers would upset the balance of the game, and since the this game progresses at a very fast pace, I don’t think it is suitable for players to spend a lot of time building strong structures.
Perhaps if you want to play like that, you should play a game like SQUAD or wait for a SQUAD-like custom match to appear.
Engineering items are extremely quick to make, and IMO already take sufficient time to destroy .
IRL the purpose of such obstacles is not to STOP the enemy - it is to slow them down, make them more exposed, and give you a better chance to destroy them - you cannot rely on them to protect flanks for example.
and IMO most of the Enlisted ones do that just fine in the context of a short arcade-style game - if you are not looking at them then the enemy can remove them easily - if you place them where you can cover them with fire then you can reap a good reward.
Making them into permanent tot blockages, or anything even vaguely resembling that, would be a terrible change.
The whole balance of the game is possibly gonna change when the update happens instead of finding bot lobbies you’re gonna be fighting players
When the update finally happens You’d be mostly fighting stacks of players With Paratrooper and tank support And Artillery strike hitting the objective defenders don’t have much of A hope in hell defending against a team charging
If this game has a more expansive map and a game mode that takes more time to play, more buildings should be available for construction.

It’s hard to put up a defense on the first objective when people artillery spam us into oblivion and sandbags and barbed wire get destroyed like wet paper when someone uses artillery or just spams the objective with grenades
Building sandbags isnt the main objective of this game maybe that’s why. Your gameplay shouldn’t be based on engineer structures (except rally points), they’re just for to support. A very situational help.

Your bullets should hold off attackers, not lame indestructible structures lol. This game is primarily first person shooter, deal with it.

Similar things like better sandbags etc were suggested numerous times, you really aren’t first.
imo,I think any further strengthening of the buildings will require an even bigger buff to the attackers.
Sandbags are easily destroyed by bombardment, but I think they were designed with that in mind. Again, they are difficult to destroy with infantry alone, and artillery and tanks are there to break through. Sandbags that can never be destroyed by artillery would be too much in favor of the defenders.
I’m not asking for indestructible I’m asking for more health of the defenses So they don’t get destroyed from one artillery strike so It takes two strikes to break it And tank shells as well two shots to break it
Just build hedgehogs, they are good enough to use them as cover. And they are indestructible by artillery/tanks.
The things you want is pretty much already in game, lol.
well if every other squad will get something unique to build by their engineers i see no other thing than improved defences for the original engineer squad to keep them viable
