This game has beautiful graphics. But one of the worst things in it, and that feels the shittiest and gets constantly mocked by players of other games, are some of the soldier’s faces in the game. Some of them just look comically retarded (especially Soviet and German ones), and haven’t been upgraded since the game’s release.
There are also too few of them, so you often get them repeated over and over. These goofy faces are not a problem in Tunisia, say. Because a lot more new, properly-drawn face models were added for the British and Italian back then.
The fix to this, though I know this is graphically-demanding, I think the solution would be to just flood the game with new facial model designs, on top of the already existing ones. It would be beautiful and it would make the game a bit more immersive.

Ok some where its okay to add new faces but then rather new cloths and do more uniforms… But there are more important things to do then that

With ai texture generation they could generate unlimited and varied faces but they would rather use them on ai portraits.

The choices are very limited so you end up with a bunch of guys with the same face. Some of the British faces are really weird and creepy (the eyes! the eyes! ahhh)
I named all my soldiers after Second World War Australian Victoria Cross recipients, which is our highest order for valour.
I tried to find faces that resembled the real men but it was incredibly difficult.
Jack Mackay for example I considered especially important because he was the age I am now when he gave his life to save his mates and in defence of Australia and the Allied cause.
Unfortunately all I could do was find the youngest looking face (which is shared with Germany and Soviet Union) and use that.
Now I’m not saying DarkFlow shouldve had faces that actually resembled real WWII veterans but it wouldve been nice to have a bit more variety.
While we are on appearance I would request some Indian appearance soldiers in addition to Commonwealth uniforms so players who wish to have a British Indian squad can do so.
Other customisation would be nice like facial hair or clean shaven, scars, glasses etc.
I would place more uniforms as a higher priority but nevertheless I agree with your post this is something that should be worked on. There’s no reason why we should be limited to a handful of generic weird looking AI models.
Also a minor aside it would be cool to see the occasional Polish or Czech name in British squads in recognition of the Free Polish and Free Czech soldiers who fought alongside the British Army. (naturally nation-appropriate uniforms would come first).
Likewise for USA I dont see why we cant have some African-American appearance soldiers. As for unit segregation, Id just have it as an auto full squad apply so within a squad everyone is black or white American.
Just uniforms, who cares about there faces there are goofy and ugly faces i know but thats not a main thing in compared to uniforms
