We are sick of this, here is a short term solution for suicide bomber spam

Pilot main here, not going to talk about how the dmg model is still very broken, but planes should be High risk-High Reward.
BUT
“Suicide scoring” makes the dumbest of air players score tons of kills with near no skill. - There is no “High Risk” in it.

Let’s add risk to it

-Make ANY suicided plane remove points from the player that scored(close-to-suicide) kills with it.(Constant value, maybe equivalent to the same as “downing a plane”, but negative)

-ANY kill accounted after suicide (or a short time before death) must count as NEGATIVE points.(So, Points= NEGATIVE[Constant value+ Variable value based on kills]).

-In invasion, the side that is invading should not be penalised AND recieve back the DOUBLE of life points taken(becauce suiciding may still be “Profitable” if your goal is to clear a winning point to secure victory, even if you need to lose some points for it)

That looks like a good, simple and effective solution for the short term, what do you think?

currently, if you bomb and kill someone, but you suicide,

you don’t get those kills accounted. therefore you gain no experience.

the only logical thing to somewhat prevent those suicide spawn is to move further back the spawns.

so people get bored and eventually will get that you ain’t gonna do that much if you keep wasting time and planes.

but, i’m all for detraining points of you suicide.
although, not everyone liked this idea.

But bots and players fire at incoming planes. Won’t even slight damage cause the crash being counted as “kill” and therefore negate the suicide malus?

Sorry, I used “suicide” as a literal term, not counting on the kill feed saying just that “You killed yourself”.

Besides, I personally would be very often on the edge of this, since I almost never deliberately kamikaze but sometimes happen to accidentally crash immediately after a run, because I drop at very low altitude and am often at risk of clipping trees/rooftops.

EDIT: I admit I will sometimes kamikaze when my plane is already heavily damaged and without plausible chances to keep flying, tho.

Downside to this, but as I mentioned, there should be risk involved.
And what better risk than losing points instead of gaining?

That’s why it would be a “Shot term solution”.

TRUE, but ONLY if kills are accounted AFTER death.
But if you Dropbomb>Kill>Die IT STILL COUNTS.
(That’s the whole point of suicide bombing after all, lol, why do you think people do it?)

Sorry not sure if I got it, but I suppose you mean move “plane spawns back”? - Planes are already ““Useless””" apart from killing, and need some skill to do it(Or they should, apart from suiciding), making it just more time consuming just negates the whole point of flying afterall.

err, no.

again, you don’t get kills nor experience unless you get shutted down.

this system was introduced to somewhat counter it.

currently, you suicide bomb and respawn quickly because it’s easy, and you mainly do it to wipe out attackers, or defenders quickly to buy time for your ally to rally and attack/defend.

i wouldn’t say so.

would be used more " tactically ".

and this way, fighters can do their job properly without being pointless.

Why not just turn on friendly fire for planes … they already do this in LF so it’s in the game … Just turn on FF and a suicide will take away as many points as it gets …

it’s a bad idea because:

A, no one would use plains because of their lazyness.

B, you are giving team killers the keys for heavens and seriously damage the game for that team.

C, not everyone would know that potentially they can harm their own team.

It is a thing already.

If you drop a bomb and crash before it explodes, the bomb will become “neutral” and reap any unit in the blast area, friend or foe.

I don’t play LF but is this a problem there with planes?

From reading this thread everyone seems to think they do this to help their team clear a point. they will learn pretty quickly that they will hurt their own team and themselves as well.
Dont they loose XP in LF due to friend fire?

yes.

and people almost play no planes there because of being afraid to team kill.

that’s the point. they do.

weather you do that intentionally, or unintentionally.

if you are good, you can compensante. but not everything is able to do so.

Imo that would end or at least limit kamikadze tactics and vehicle spam.

Right… let´s just get rid of the problem not by fixing it, but by nuking it to oblivion by absolutely absurd punishments.

No…

Instead, reintroduce bug that simply denied any reward to suicide bombers. Such kills were accounted to “Enemy” in the log and kills just ended up in the void. That alone can stop it. Before this “bug” was fixed, suicide bombing was almost nonexistent.
If you might be afraid that is not enough and bombs explode before crash, just add delay fuse on bombs so kamikazes have a bit longer time to crash.

Short-term solutions tend to have long-term consequences.

I still would do it, just to stop the enemy from advancing.

Is there such a system in the game? I saw many times in Normandie and Berlin where people died for 40+ times for keeping kamikazing for the whole round and get 10000+ scores.

It’s definitely not real. You can try yourself with Ju188.

Meanwhile, Moscow players eat popcorn reading all this, since suicide bombing there is now rare enough to not be bothersome anymore.

Who knows how is CAS going to be in Tunisia… If I had to guess, I’d say at an intermediate level between Moscow and Normandy.

Ngl, when playing Axis side, I totally expect the barrage of rockets from British Hurricanes or Typhoons to be atrocious.
