I guess this thing in unfinished state avaiable in editor for few years now.(Or another modification of it)
SAS Rider squad on scout cars with those MGs would go hard
Generally love the idea, however the Ba-64 isnt really fit to an APC, the M3A1 scout car would be a far better option for it, and then have the Ba-64 become their Armoured Car option. Honestly there are so many options for soviet Armoured cars its nuts, no need to go for lend lease stuff.
I say this because the M3A1 scout car was used as a battlefield taxi in soviet service, while the Ba-64, for all its cursed variants, only ever had a single prototype made as an actual APC, and that was scraped, though there were a few field modifications to make it a staff car or command variant.
Also the 250/1 is a bit too small, since it wouldnt be able to fit say a 9 man rofle squad spawning in it.
We could very easily add the 251 ausf A, B or C instead since we already have the ausf D in game atm.
Maybe give the Ausf D in game a touch up to reward people who bought the premium, could even just be in the form of an ammo box on it like motorcycles.
Armoured cars were cut from the suggestion with the exception of type 92 Chiyoda.
Ba-64E was a prototype armoured personnel carrier vehicle with 3 built, crew of 2 and 6 passangers, enough to fit a squad on the vehicle.
So is the UC, but actually many more soldiers could fit inside sdkfz 250 if some of the are standing.
Just for comparison the Kangaroo apc can carry more than 10 soldiers in roughly 25% less space than the sdkfz250.
Can actually carry less soldiers than T-20 because the many machine guns eat up the space and also M3A1 SC is the most comparable to AS.42 and Chevy.
Not really that different…
There were many variants of sdkfz251
Take the sdkfz251/17 D for example, same vehicle but the Mg is replaced with a 20mm multipurpose gun.
Again this vehicle was planned but cut from the suggestion…
I think this might be rather unlikely at present. Take the APCs in the current high-end stores for instance. Except for the Japanese APC, which is truly capable of firing continuously due to its 20-round magazine machine gun, the machine guns on other APCs have more or less restricted the number of shots you can fire. In reality, it’s simply impossible to reach the overheating level after firing such a small amount of bullets. This indicates that DF intentionally limits the damage of vehicle-mounted machine guns against infantry, just like the machine guns on tanks. I believe that before DF releases these vehicles, it should first propose to improve the overheating issue of these machine guns to at least be closer to reality, rather than catering to those players who keep shooting blindly. Otherwise, all these might just be empty talk.
Yeah my point still stands, There is very good reason why said prototype wasnt accepted or even offered as an option for field modification unlike many other designs in soviet service who did have their own system for approving field mods.
Yeah the issue is there, one of those is very different to the other options, the AS42 and similar borderline staff cars arent fit to be compared to an armoured car, if only for the fact all the crew are extremely exposed on the Italian and British option. Though if you did want to add them regardless, I think the M20 utility vehicle would be a better option than the Chevy at least.
Fair enough.
I mean by your logic above, they could squeeze together better by standing in like sardines. I would certainly rather the M3A1 Scout Car over the T-20, purely because the T-20 would be horrendously bad because apart from 1 member who would spawn in the armoured co driver seat, the rest would be pure bullet bait sitting exposed there.
There was, however wasnt suggesting any of the separate more specialised variants, but was simply suggesting their base models to act like how the Ausf D is in game, since the Ausf D is the only visually different model, personally Id recommend the Ausf C since that was probably the most common after the Ausf D.
Not to mention it would be nice to not paywall probably the single most iconic Half Track of the war. Its about as egregious as paywalling the Chi Ha.
