I wonder if this has been asked before and i’ve not seen it. I’m a newbie and also currently play War Thunder Tank wars. I have a problem driving the tank unless my commander sits out from the hatch. when manoeuvring obstacles I find it hard to steer my tank. Hence I wonder if this option is available or can be added as a feature. Also My commander whilst he’s on top looking outside the tank cant look around him e.g. to the rear without turning the turret? Knid regards and a fantastic game!!!
While other games use a 3rd person view (also known to some as “drone view”), this game would greatly suffer from that, as its a balancing element to have restricted vision.
Your commander popping out the top is the best you are going to get, which again for balance reasons, makes him exposed to shots when he is getting better vision.
That would be the “Free Look” command.

i would like way much more a still balanced and realistic way of having the view of the driver port on a corner of the screen

Then I would suggest making a suggestion post with that part in particular. I wouldn’t mind that and I don’t think it would really hurt balance.
Keep in mind, you can cycle through your seats, allowing you to see the different views as is.
After all, its a tank, advantage of armor and disadvantage of the view, hence why its best to advance with infantry. That said, its fine the way it is.

Tanking in Berlin without 3rd person view is brutal as getting stuck or spending forever trying to negotiate all the obstacles is the norm. But, tanks are also powerful enough so restricting vision seems reasonable.
