First of all, I’m a 11 years WT and 3 years Enlisted player. I’ve spent thousands of dollars into both games. I pre-order almost every packs from both games.
Despite from the percentage wise, which I don’t even think it’s a major problem, since that’s the price you need to pay if you miss some event, I get that (I do have every event squad since the game came out, but I don’t have every special weapon).
The major problem is that except from this chest, new players or vets don’t have alternate ways to get any of the rare stuff. Simply copy paste from War Thunder system is unacceptable and Irresponsible. Because War Thunder has another important feature, that is the Gaijin Marketplace. The market makes it possible for new players to purchase event vehicles or decorations or anything that is not on the research tree.
If you play WT, you know that 80%+ of the vehicles can be purchased in some way. Whether it’s in the marketplace that could be purchased by GJN, or directly by Golden Eagle when they are back on sale. There are indeed around 20% of the vehicles (vehicles only, decals and decorations are always there in the marketplace) that’s not purchasable. So in WT they introduced chests and players can get those 20% of the vehicles from the chest. If this applies to Enlisted will be like all the event squads are available in market, the main weapons are also available (with limited amount per person!!!), the pistols are not in the chest (pretty much the minor rewards in War Thunder).
But everything mentioned have to have a “two-way” system in order to operate smoothly.
Players most likely won’t pay real money for the silver chest, and developers won’t get any profit from the chest either. Players will complain if they are not getting anything they want. This seems like a lose-lose situation by all means. Adding a marketplace will not only make players get what they wanted, but also most importantly gain profits for developers. This will be a win-win move.
Also as for the BP stuff. Originally in War Thunder it’s completely out of print. But the recent BP in war thunder reintroduced a selection of old BP vehicles. So, in my opinion this is also a good chance to start a “Legacy Store”, which everything inside is old BP weapons. You can gain two “Legacy Orders” per BP to purchase Legacy weapons. And the price of the Legacy weapons could go up to 1000 (This is the price we all need to pay if we miss anything, even though I would love to purchase it with original price. And the developer will get more profit, and they will be more willing to take such measure).
This is all I could think of right now, I love this game, as much as I love War Thunder. It has been 11 years for WT, and I’m looking forward to have another 11 on Enlisted.
Yup I know cause there were few years that I started an account on PlayStation, and this is annoying. But yeah, we do need a better mechanism. Considering the weapon and vehicle variety of Enlisted compare to WT, there shouldn’t be anything that’s out of print (silver chest considered out of print due to the extreme small chance of getting a Random stuff).
This box is clearly not for new players. It’s for people like me who have literally everything maxed out, except for a few squads they’ll never use, and have an obscene amount of spare resources.
This box is definitely not intended for the average Joe to get all the past events and exclusives. It’s literally called veteran box.
Bro I was gonna say this but I deleted on my last reply, but I need to type out this time. Did you even read my suggestion? I literally said “event squads are available in market, the main weapons are also available”. Did you ever played WT? If so, you should aware that most of the even vehicle are pretty expensive. And I literally said this “And the price of the Legacy weapons could go up to 1000”. Of course I think it shouldn’t be easy or cheap to get the out-of-print items, I put my time to grind it as well
Yeah I mean literally everything could be solved if market is introduced, imagine you could sell the event squad on the market if you don’t wanna use it after grinding out, or just buy the weapons and vehicles from those guys who grind out or simply get it from the silver box.
I agree.
But at the same time devs advertised it as a way for new players to get stuff from past events they missed. And I’d say they delivered in typical enlisted fasion: technically it checks out but it’s not really what you’ve expected when you’ve heard about it.
I have never played War Thunder so I have no idea how the market would work in Enlisted.
I do play a lot of Enlisted though. I have a chance to buy lots of loot boxes and so far I think the whole thing is interesting. I bought one loot box and on the first one it gave me the German anti-tank rifle squad which is kind of cool cause I did not grind for that event and always kinda regretted it, and I like that I can switch the main weapon in that squad, making it useful at every BR. This gave me a good impression of the loot boxes I do not know if that is by design or just truly random but I feel positive about loot boxes so far.
I did play a lot before the merge and I did buy a bunch of assaulter 3’s and I did manage to sell a lot of them before the economy changes so I have just over a million silver now.
I tried maybe 40 more loot boxes and got a German BR I scout plane which is cool, and a Russian BR II tank which is also cool. I also got a PPK with ivory grips and 2 German gold order solders, an assaulter and a machine gunner.
Obviously if there was a “market” store I would just buy the squads and the vehicles and weapons I wanted and it would be very straightforward and easy. I have absolutely no use for the callsign orders but a I got a large number of them from all these loot boxes which is kind of pointless. I do appreciate the clothing orders cause I like putting different camouflages on my troops and clothing orders are the only way.
So I guess its like a slot machine mechanic that they have implemented. So far I still have around a million silver and I have not converted my extra XP to silver yet, cause I don’t know if the rates are even finalized or if all the bugs are worked out or if they will patch the loot boxes to make them more fair next week or something.
A marketplace seems very straightforward, maybe even a “too easy” way to get the good stuff that the player wants. Maybe the intention with the loot boxes is to get players to convert XP to silver to buy loot boxes with the hope of getting the good rewards. To generate more XP they just need to play more, so it should further incentivize people to play the game more and increase the amount of human players in games.
This is all from the perspective of someone who has unlocked everything and has an excess of XP built up from how much I still play because they enjoy I game.
So that’s why I mentioned WT, the whole “vet chest” is probably from WT, and which all your questions or confusions will be answered. As Enlisted existed on the gaming market, there will be more and more updates of this game and will eventually build up a “cyber museum”. There will be more and more event and gears. It’s just impossible for later (for example 5 years later) new players to even get most of them. And the market is never an “easy” way (you need to pay real money), and those out-of-print stuff is pretty expensive, while there is more and more player who started WT in recent years.
This is what the market looks like in case you never access it.
So in general, if you expect this game has a longer lifespan, you gotta admit that introducing market mechanism and made these event squads and special weapons and vehicles purchasable is the move.
