It helps your accuracy be decreasing both vertical and horizontal recoil, INCREASING accuracy. The fact it reduces your angles has nothing to do with accuracy.
I don’t disagree that the bracing mechanic could use a little help, as it does sometimes kick you out of it randomly, and places gun inside object occasionally. Also, there are some areas you SHOULD be allowed to brace but cannot. Those definitely need some help.
If YOU wish to run and gun, that’s your decision. That said, bracing and using the bipod from a smart angle and distance is effective. I have plenty of 100+ kill games as proof. The thing to remember is that you don’t have to get EVERY single kill. If you have a good angle, and a good mount, you can usually eliminate 50-75% of incoming targets quite effectively. Anything that gets through that then has to deal with your teammates that are directly on the objective. MGs are there to thin out the incoming enemy forces.
You mention MGs only which have rather low dispersion (compared to others). And since bipods dont affect dispersion in a positive way, it does not matter much anyway for the BAR.
That being said… what recoil do US MGs have which forces people to use shitty bipods?
And whats the point of using MGs as semi if you have SA rifles?
If MG are supposed to only work as overmaged SA rifles, then the game mechanics suck.
Console players benefit from 50% recoil reduction over pc ones. They also have a mild auto aim.
With those, dispersion probably isn’t an issue. But for pc guys, using lmgs… is unsatisfying. It shoots all over the place, takes too long setting in a window frame, and worse… when you DO manage to set up lmg with bipods… the dispersion is so bad it feels like you shoot using a damaged barrel.
Well, they seem to have picked up their efforts in updating and bringing more content as of late. I know its started getting more popular on console, which is perhaps why. With the amount of MG usage on console, I foresee them adding in some changes to MGs soon.
