So I’ve been thinking a bit about the vehicle cycling problems and the like and thought maybe this may be a good solution:
Each team has Vehicle Supplies, which are split into air and ground supplies. This is in addition to the normal tickets a team might have and is shown at the top.
When you want to spawn a vehicle your team needs to have enough supplies of the correct type needed for this vehicle to be spawned and uses up those supplies on spawn.
Vehicle supplies slowly recover over time.
This all means that when you destroy multiple vehicles in a row the enemy team should not be able to just spawn more and more and means you can leave more of an impact in that regard. This also means suicide runs with planes are less effective as they would block the ability for your team to spawn in new planes for a while.
Ground vehicles:
Tanks would use up more supply than SPWs would.
Motorcycle squads either provide both kinds of vehicle supply to the team on spawn or whenever the player with that squad gets a certain amount of points. This gives motorcycles an actual usecase as a form of support role for the team.
Air vehicles:
Bombers would most likely use up the most supply with fighters using up less.
When you get a certain amount of points as an aircraft squad on the ground you generate air supply for your team. Landing also generates some air supply. This is to make sure that it isn’t always just the best option to crash with your plane and spawn a more effective squad, when your plane is to damaged. Instead of being teleported to the team spawn you can select a spawn point, when sucessfuly parachuting out or landing.
Paratroopers squads also need a small amount of air supply. When their plane doesn’t get shot down this air supply will be recovered once it despawns. This is to give it a purpose to shoot down those paratrooper planes. It would be even better if they were marked as enemies as normal.
I would say that bombing runs would also use air supply if they weren’t already usually bad compared to other artillery strikes. But since they are so weak I don’t think it would be a good idea to nerf them further.
Generally there could also be the idea of having different vehicles of the same type use up different amounts of supply to balance them, but that might go a bit far.
