I view this game’s style as semi-hardcore. It’s not a walking sim like HLL, its not Cod levels of zerging, you don’t regenerate all your health instantly, there is (somewhat) realistic armor penetration, etc.
In game’s like BF their spotting mechanic is the infamous dorito. Once you spot an enemy they’re effectively targeted no matter where they are. Get spotted and the enemy sees you literally behind a wall.
This game isn’t like that. We can only mark the general area where we see something. So then I started thinking about vehicles. Marking tanks, transports, etc makes them hyper targeted. You can see their every move. Planes are automatically spotted once they get into your view. I think this should be changed
When marking a vehicle whether it’s a tank, transport vehicle, motorcycle, any vehicle, it is no longer ultra spotted where you see their every movement. Marking a vehicle only marks the exact spot it was seen. You will still know the general area the vehicle is in.
Planes will no longer be auto spotted when near you, whether you’re on the ground or a plane yourself. Either plane spotting can be entirely removed as they are fast, far away, and you can hear them coming anyway that marking their position is pointless. Or you can mark their position (if you’re able to catch these fast moving targets) leaving its own plane mark that marks the exact spot the plane was seen.
Evo made some interesting points in their recent video on YT. Spotting needs an overhaul, especially binoculars. Distance marking being available through binoculars would make them way more useful than they are atm.
I’ve also been suggesting Recon Planes as a Radio call-in. They fly over the map and spot EVERYTHING. Rallies, Engineer buildings, vehicles, even infantry
Interesting idea. Though I think they should have a limited scope, so not to spot everything, just stuff inside their flight path. And their flight time should be fast and the cooldown less than normal arty, but not by much.
Just like how apparently automatic rifles used to be it’s own class.
Funny sometimes perhaps things were better before
On one hand yes it would make tanks a little less scared
But I view it’s about making all gameplay equal and increasing idk what the right word is but let’s say brain cells of gameplay. You know make players think a little more. I said to myself, we can’t spot infantry, why can we spot tanks? If you spot a vehicle you at least know the general area so you can plan ahead
Anyway once it shoots you you certainly will know where it is
