As the title says perhaps add vehicle being used in the kill feed so that we know what vehicle are being used by enemies and allies, atm only the weapons on the vehicles are shown and only vehicles that are destroyed are shown on the kill feed
As of now try learning the main cannon to each tank. Need any help with a specific campaign?
Learning the main cannon is helpful most of the time but some tank uses same cannon. For example, you cannot know the 45mm20k cannon shot is from a paper armor T-26 or from a tanky T-50.
Yeah Moscow is the one where it’s hard to tell
That would be neat, since especially in Normandy Pz III, IVs and Panther all use the same cannon, same in allies, Scott, Sherman and Jumbo all same
Well with PZ III it’s kwk 37 not 48
Same for scott, it’s M2 and not M3.
I never have issue to understand what tank kill me usually kill cam already show him, and if i not see him a little scouting of the battle zone le me find him
The op issue isn’t understanding what tank got him. But what tank got a teammate to know how to proceed into dealing with it.
Op: my best advice is to always expect the best variant and deal with the enemy like he has the best tank.
If you are positioned or prepared to deal with the best enemy tank in that campaign, you are set to win…
I think you might be mixing up some things, like Caliber alone.
But in the kill feed you will see the differences.
50mm L/60 - Panzer 3 L
75mm KwK37 - Panzer 3 N
75mm L/48 - Panzer 4 (all variants in Normandy)
75mm L/70 - Panther , All Models
75mm StuK 40 L/48 - StuG III
Now the Allies I can see some issues, I think The M3 cannon does not denote the barrel Length to tell the difference between. 17Pdr would be Firefly, 57mm QF is Churchill, and 76mm should be the High end Sherman.
It would be nice, but over time many of us have memorized what tank owns what cannon, and that helps with IDing the attacker. Yes some tank can use similar arms which makes it a wild ass guess, but thats half the fun for me.
75mm M2 is Scott
75mm M3 is Sherman/Jumbo
76mm M7 is Wolverine
76mm M1 is Sherman 76
I just look at the caliber and know how fucked I was.
122mm and 88mm is big fucked.
37mm is little fucked.
It help me to decide weither they deserve to be suicide bomb or panzefausted when I respawn.
But yea, the name of the tank could be better imo.
Thanks , I couldn’t remember off the top of my head those ones.
76mm m7 is m10 and the 76mm m1 is either the m4a2(berlin) or the m4a1
Yeah the other posted helped. For some reason because the US likes to do M everything, and sometimes the same Alpha Numeric for different things it gets confusing for me at times.
All those damn M1 and M3 things lol.
nah man, even with the help its hard to memorize the main cannons in all 5 campaigns and what vehicle they belong to, the post here is so that teammates knows what type of vehicle is blowing them up and can figure out how to proceed, cause everyone knows that the Stuart cannot match a Tiger in a head to head combat
Yeah I would appreciate not requiring a master’s degree in War Thunder just to know whether the tank on the enemy tank is Pz IV, Panther, Tiger or Tiger II when looking at the “69cm kwk96 l/69” in the kill feed.
It’s actually easy to remember
Soviet guns in Berlin
76mm M1 - premium M4A2
85mm D-5T - Starter T-34-85 and IS-1
85mm ZiS-S-53 - T-34-85 including the gold order one and premium T-34-85E
85mm D-5S - SU-85M
122mm D-25T - IS-2
