this has been asked countless times by many people and NOW is the best time to implement a much needed improvement to the game.
currently many of the best maps in the game are locked behind low BR (moscow & tunisia), highly reducing the quality of maps high BR has access to.
another problem is that many old players with perfect armies are forced to play low BR in order to enjoy those maps, which inevitably harms new players who in return complain about muh sealclubbing, not understanding that the suboptimal BR-Maps system ruins the fun for everyone.
add these changes for the coming update:
a)
use the following simple system for putting maps to BRs: early war BR 1-2, mid war BR 3-4 and late war BR 4-5
b)
every map that has a fixed location-timeline situation gets a fixed BR spot, e.g. berlin maps into late war BR 4-5, rzhev/stalingrad into mid war BR 3-4.
tunisia maps into BR 1-2-3-4 (was chronologically mid war but lots of early war equipment used there together with the first tigers. many italian BR1 tanks were used during this campaign, as well as panzer 4s and tigers, which demands a broad BR spread)
every map that isnt a specific historical location gets designated as flexible and used as such
e.g. most moscow campaign maps look like any random eastern european country. birch grove could be a polish village in 1939 AND december 1944, fortified district same situation
we have similar flexibility already in normandy maps which are available for BR 1-2-3-4-5, which is obv ahistorical but works well for fun
c)
in order to update to the new system, mostly moscow and tunisia maps need to be opened to more BRs and stalingrad/rzhev needs to be limited by removing BR5 from them.
—> a much more flexible AND more historically accurate system thats much more fun to play, as it reduces monotony and lets players enjoy a better mix of maps
gaijin can ask me directly in case questions remain regarding the system or specific maps. i made a map ranking video 2 weeks ago (not released yet) and looked at every map in the game, working myself perfectly into the topic.
+1 free Tiger from it’s cage and let it finally play on Tunisian maps
Obviously Moscow maps may as well be happening during late Battle of Leningrad or while taking back terrain from Germany in 1944-45, there are few exceptions like that Monastery map.
If only Dark-Gaijin wouldn’t be so lazy and actually reuse Stalingrad/Moscow/Rzhev assets + make 20% new of them and make actual Leningrad maps for BR3-4-5
The maps should be really open for all br’s and allso not in pieces it should the whole map (campaign) especially cuz of jets most maps are to little for it iguess the old gen consoles they can handle easy i was a few tims with ps4 slime on big action maps a bit long loading time but he handled and the xbox part too i guess. Okay im easy talking with a 5pro yet but they make it and that why i mention 2 options a long and a quick battle the lower consoles shall stay for quick battles if they dont want to wait a bit longer
rzhev took place 1942-43, which is exactly mid BR, excluding low and high BR
tigers (1942) were first used 1 year before panthers (1943). the fact that the game BR system places these tanks in the wrong chronological order is not an argument to use the same problem in the BR system. this is what many nerds dont get, that weapon evolution, especially for germany, wasnt linear.
many stronger things came before weaker things and late war some ridiculously strong weapons were build (jagdtiger) and some extremely bad things (most volkssturm guns).
this means placing maps according to power level or specific weapons leads to contradictions.
the only logical way to arrange maps is in chronological order.
it doesnt matter at all whether a single building is orthodox or catholic if the whole rest of the map fits perfectly
also there were some orthodox churches in poland and there also were some catholic churches in the soviet union.
but there were MG42s and various other tanks/planes that arent available at br1-3.
youre repeating the same wrong argument of looking only at a few cherry picked items and not the overall situation. the overall situation shows that its impossible to get perfect fits by binding maps to weapons and instead they need to be bound to time dates.
The BR system creates ahistorical equipment distribution. MG34’s were used during the Invasion of Poland (1939), yet if such maps existed in game you would never be able to bring a MG34, because they would be low BR maps. (Unless the MG34 received some kind of nerf to allow it to be considered BR 2)
PPS-42 / PPS-43 did not exist during Operation Barbarossa, but they are the most common SMG’s you will find during Battle of Moscow matches.
MP 3008 will be a BR 1 gun in the next update, despite it only being used at the very end of the war. You find more Volksturm in early war matches than you do in Berlin matches.
Its an unfortunate side effect of BR and maps being tied to BR. (Unless the devs go nuts and drastically change the stats of the weapons, to be point where good quality early war guns are shit, and shitty quality late war guns become super lazers). Which shouldn’t happen, the equipment in game should reflect how it actually performed in real life, but it would be nice to actually be able to use said equipment in a historical authentic way.
