Well, Soviets should definitely get something new as well. Since their tech tree is quite straightforward. And mostly with only one weapon choice per BR.
It’s not like sovier tech tree should stay the same for some completely random reason.
Btw. I wonder if Soviets would care more about mkb than about fgs, lol
FGs are way bigger threats
You missed the point.
Germans and Soviets both have 2 battlerifle SF rifles that are very similar, fg42 II is minimally better than Fg42 and the same applies for AVS and AVT, they all fill the same role.
M2 Carbine however is effectively an “AR” SF rifle, giving US a battlerifle SF rifle too would put them in an advantageous position.
I have no problem with adding scoped M2 carbine or M1/M2 Carbine, Reider automatic rifle, Hyde1944 ect.
Indeed I did not see the thing from that perspective. But as of now the US are stuck with either a sort of AR for everyone or an SMG for assaulter while everyone else (except Japanese) have proper assault rifle.
But then the question arise, what would be the point of giving the US an AR if they already have an M2 Carbine ? Making the US stuck in a loop that would prevent them from getting any useful tool.
And they already have access to an automatic rifle (which is imo the best US weapon) in the form of the T20. Which is locked behind the gold order weapon tab…
As long as the game continues, new content will always be added, so adding more new Tier 5 guns to the US is probably inevitable.
What kind of things will be added and how to balance them with the other camps, though, is something that needs to be considered.
Fair point, I guess it just comes to show how impossible balance really is in this game.
I mean, DF added Tiger II (H) to Germany when US had nothing to counter it, the merged had already been announced months ago by that point, how no one even considered that would be unfair?
Japan should get a Type Hei 10rndr at tier 3 or 4; have it be stripper clip fed…
maybe add a type Ko as well.
as for the subject of the thread; I dislike the FG-42, and the AVT variants as a concept; ideally the FG-42’s should just be a Gunner Weapon as they are basically ultralight near-bullpup BAR’s or ZB-26’s designed for paratroopers;
the johnson LMG is also frankly not adequate for the kind of gameplay gunners should be doing. (though, like the BAR it seems adequate for how they’re actually used)…
edit: forgot my point in editing; silly me
US equivalents for the STG-44 and FG-42 would probably be the t-20 and M2; though those feel inadequate in some regards, though I’m not sure it matters, T5 is a bit of a silly gamemode altogether.
Ehhh, don’t even mention that bad joke.
I simply refuse to talk about it so I don’t end up like wastedwoodman.
All you need to know about my opinion that Im willing to make any compromise to stop that plane spam.
this would work more/better if the spotting/marking system were adequate, and there were voice coms to say “I SEE A TANK” so your pilots knew to look for a tank, ideally around an area.
something like this, with a mandatory “new info” thing so everyone sees it.
I think it would be simpler to just make the AVT-36 and AVS-40 start on semi auto; or ideally have the player who attempts to switch to full auto get assaulted by a commisar for wasting ammo.
I don’t see the point of adding a prototype plane that is not even in War Thunder, when US literally had similar plane like A-26 in service and in War Thunder.
Soviets should be able to equip SMGS like PPSh-41 on any trooper. They were mass produced and supplied from many factories including Stalingrad, Leningrad and Moscow then during battles they were moved east. During Battle of Berlin they were most widely used weapon (ofc not all of them were drums since they were prone to malfunctions).
I want Leningrad maps it could be used for low br and especially high br. Low BR can be obviously start of the operation with movement through Russia around the Leningrad, for BR5 we should get non urban places like Moscow campaign maps they can have some villages, small towns or just forests with valleys and rivers. Leningrad–Novgorod offensive of 1944 would be great since it has all of it
Frankly, I’d like a Garand in that void, with Winchester’s prototype pistol grip and detachable magazine for fully automatic fire.
It is an automatic weapon that uses full-size rifle rounds, the equivalent of the FG42 or AVT for the U.S. Like the T20.
This should be a weapon available to all riflemen.
I know the Hyde carbine has been proposed many times, but I think this would be an equivalent weapon to the StG44 because it uses .30 carbine rounds. Therefore, the Hyde carbine would suit its status as a new weapon for assaults.
