US Machine Gun Squad

Why is the US Army machine gun squad using a Bren? I understand they wanted to keep the BAR as a premium pay weapon but they should be using the M1919 .30 cal as a machine gun. A American army infantry squad would not be using a Bren unless they picked up off a dead Brit.

There are many placeholder weapons in Normandy - Italian ones on the German side, and you apparently haven’t gotten to the PIAT, Lee-Enfield and Sten for the Americans yet…??

apparently they will disappear eventually

they will disappear eventually

Good, however the 12th LSSAH did make prolific use of Italian weapons with other veterans of that front.

What Division you mean right now? 12th SS is Hitlerjugend, 1st SS is LSSAH. And iirc 1st didn’t served on Italian front and 12th for sure didn’t, soo idk where else they would pick those weapons up. If something, they used Soviet weapons.

Sorry, what I said was unclear.

LSSAH used Italian camouflage/weapons along with units who actually deployed there.

Waffen SS made ready use of both captured weapons and materials that made it back to friendly lines from the italian front. It’s my understanding uniforms were even commissioned (not just repurposed) in italian camo.

I know SS used a lot of Captured weapons, but lets be honest here, Germans hated Breda a woudnt even take it with them to Normandy, Beretta i get, thats one of best SMGs of war and i don’t really mind having it in Normandy, but Breda shoudn’t be there.

We will see if it actualy stay there or not, tbh i think they will not remove those Brits and Italian weapons and just leave it there.

I would hope they remove some at the very least from both.

I dont mind the use of other allied weapons in each faction,I wouldnt mind to see the germans getting more italian, french or even spanish weapons.
I think add more variety and thats good IMO…

Yes I did notice the Piat as well as others. I gave the piat well a pass since the US Army didn’t have much along the lines of antiTank until later in war. My point is is that its not like we didn’t have a machine gun to choose from. If there was a gap then sure add it so we aren’t underpowered. But if its a place holder then fine. Perhaps in the future we will have Brit and other allied and axis nationalities to play with…

There are “Allies”, not an “US army”

Missing the point ther - if ther were UK/Canadian units in the lineup then they should have those British weapons and that would be fine for “allies” - but US troops did not use those weapons.

Yeah it will be cool when the US has the bazooka but upon reading up on it no the internet it had problems for awhile … We think we are so wonderful the bazooka stunk, our tanks were criminally bad, our torpedoes did not work
