Upgrades for my Garand

New barrel on my new-to-me Garand. I took it to the range and this was the first clip of 8 with iron sights at 100 yards on an 8 inch target(head shots.) Oddly, all 8 rounds are accounted for, but 4 of my rounds hit the frame of the target. When the plate was shaking, I kept putting rounds in the exact same spot and accidentally obliterated my target stand lol It wasn’t until I walked down to check my shots that I realized why the plate was “shaking a bit funny.”

I have my other Garand in an M1D configuration with an offset scope (no cheek pad) I shoot left eyed. This 8 round flight was offhand right handed right eyed (an uncomfortable position for me)

It’s a straight shooter, but it’s wrong. It had a brand new barrel, a brand new gas cylinder, and a Red River Arsenal birch stock (it should have a 1943 EMcF walnut stock)

I lined up a (date correct) 1943 barrel 4.5TE, 3+ME to put on this one and the correct EMcF stock to restore it to WW2 condition, but that stock is super pricey.

With my other Springfield receiver, I’m having the bottom milled to receive M14 magazines and getting this new barrel lathed to take an M1D barrel block. Offset scope for the new build with M14 mags will be a really fun shooter.
