I’ve noticed that playing queue-any often results in constantly getting the same faction. It is to a degree time/day dependent, but generally as players ebb and flow to certain factions selecting queue any doesn’t result in a near equal spread across all factions, which in part is the appeal to having it selected. As an example, when playing queue any two days ago, I got a single Germany game and a single USSR game, but almost every other game was Japan. I play queue any for variety, but this was effectively just playing a single faction. A couple months ago, it was almost exclusively Germany games.
Having a soft rule to select factions that haven’t been played recently after several games would provide a nice relief to the strings of same-faction games. Say after every 5 or so games it assesses if you have been playing a single faction the most, and then soft locks that from the selection for a few games. This would ensure faction diversity when queue-any is selected.
