Obviously a lot of suggestions have been made for the problem with BR5. After trying out a set up for Japan that is as close to historically accurate as the game allows and getting thrown up against allies with T20s and M26s; I have a few suggestions of my own.
The main problems I’m noticing in up-tiered matches is that auto rifles are, frankly, way too powerful. The other is Allied CAS rocket spam
There was a reason automatic rifles were largely not adopted, and those few that were, were (AFAIK) restricted largely to semi-auto. Those reasons were that they were very heavy, the recoil was unpleasant, and they were virtually impossible to control in full auto, especially from the shoulder. I believe shoulder (and possibly run) speed should be slowed, and recoil should be increased for all auto rifles.
Rocket spam is it’s own problem. I’ll be honest; as much as I think about it; I don’t have any ideas as to how to deal with it. Maybe give Japan some non-carrier launched fighters in BRs 1-3, and more, and better plane options, in general.
Another thought; I don’t know how this would work, exactly, but what if the player were able to set equipment loadouts for ALL available BRs? That way, it takes the whole issue of up-tiering (possibly) out of the equation.
Precisely my point; you’ll only be matched for BRs you have a preset for. People with BR5 will be matched for (possibly) all BRs while people with say presets for up to, say BR2, will only be matched with those with presets for BR1 and BR2.
Matchmaking is an issue, and I think having BR presets may help to address that. As far as matchmaking fixing the issues of automatic rifles being essentially fantasy weapons, at this point. I respectfully disagree.
It should, however Dark Force doesn’t seem to care. We don’t have enough players they say, well, when half the players desert before the end, does it really matter? If DF cared, they would have fixed this crap long ago as it is brought up in the forum almost daily, still, nothing changes.
While yes they are hard to control and the game should probably represent that better, the real reasons were early automatic (and early semi auto) firearms were unreliable and every single high command was deathly afraid of soldier’s wasting bullets
Well many people didn’t play red orchestra it was amazing game and automatic rifles never been the problem sadly their approach wont work for enlisted unless there is a total rework of classes witch will leave the game with very limited slots for Automatic rifles … so simply for Enlisted it wont work
